Different methods creating a simple combi

Post by william olson »

I was watching a very excellent video by Qui on how to create a simple combi at 4min 40 seconds in his 16 min video. He used piano and strings. Then yesterday i found another excellent video called In The Studio Korg Kronos Live Stream Web cast 5/24/12 with Rich Formidoni .The video is 1hr and 20 min. At 3min 36 sec in he creates also a simple combi using strings and piano ,but using a totally different method. How many ways are there to create a combi. Its a excellent video for beginners (me). cheers Crow Feather

there are indeed multiple ways to create combis, in my video i choose to use the shortcut way, basically it does a lot of the things Rich is showing in his video by using the copy function. So that way you will have the effects, drumtrack and KARMA already in place in your combi without knowing how to do it or to find out which effects the original program used before recreating that effect chain yourself.

The way Rich is showing is the way you would create combis when you want to do everything yourself, it's the most powerful way since you share effects in multiple programs.

So it's a matter of preference, if you quickly want to create a combi by copying some programs i prefer my method. When i create my own performance combis where i want to have control on every parameter in the combi i use the method Rich is showing.
