Thanks! Nothing worse than lousy beer. Just out of curiosity, what is a popular beer in your neck of the woods?
If music is the food of love, play on and play loud!
Gear: Kronos 73, Wavestation EX, Polysix, King Korg, Monotron and Monotron Duo, Minikorg, Moog Grandmother, my very old MiniKorg, 4 acoustic and 9 electric guitars, 1 Ibanez 5 string bass, a Steel guitar, a bunch of microphones, 2 pairs of studio monitors and other very cool toys, 1 wife and 4 cats and a lava lamp!

Oops. Just realized I've gone way off topic here.
Back to reality now!
So what they general consensus is, is that you cannot use the Kronos as a USB midi interface for you other hardware synths.
Hmmm. I guess I'm just going to have to get the interface cable after all. Poop

There are not many decent beers brewed in the UK, I tend to go for German, Danish, Belgium or American beers.jeremykeys wrote:Thanks! Nothing worse than lousy beer. Just out of curiosity, what is a popular beer in your neck of the woods?
A really good UK brewery though is http://www.meantimebrewing.com if you can find any of their beers just buy them, they are superb.
Back on topic, have you looked at the IconnectMidi 4 http://www.iconnectivity.com/iConnectMIDI4plus pretty useful device.

Would be perfect if it had stereo audio out jacks. I assume that the audio passthru cant be used with another ASIO interface on a PC at the same time. I'm still waiting for the Griffin StudioConnect HD.BobTheDog wrote:There are not many decent beers brewed in the UK, I tend to go for German, Danish, Belgium or American beers.jeremykeys wrote:Thanks! I heard audiojack can fix that problem. I haven't tried it yet.Bald Eagle wrote:Would be perfect if it had stereo audio out jacks. Interesting but I don't think that will do it. Let us know if you have any success.crazylounyc wrote:I heard audiojack can fix that problem. I haven't tried it yet.

I posted a while ago about my problems with a new recent model iMac. I had held off given well known audio issues with them but there was supposedly a software update which cured it. So I bought one...
Anyway that didn't seem to work and I had distortion when using it with my Kronos as the audio interface. I swapped the iMac with our older 2010 model in the study and that works fine.
I think there is another update on the software due or perhaps out now which may have cured it.

Well it arrived, first impressions are pretty good. Well built from pressed metal, looks very sturdy.Bertotti wrote:Thank you sir!
So far I have tested it with an iPad, audio and midi over usb to a mac.
Also connected was a Livid code knob controller and a Axis 49 keyboard. These are usb devices and both go into a usb hub and then into the iConnectMidi4.
It all just seems to work!
I have the Nave app running on the iPad, I can play it from the Axis49 (or from midi routed from the mac) and use the knobs on the Code to control parameters. The audio is streamed over USB to the Mac along with all midi from the Code and Axis.
The ability to connect 6 different usb controllers to a hub and then into the device is amazing, you can then route these messages to wherever you want. I am thinking of removing my usb controllers from the mac and having them all go through this device instead.
I have only scratched the surface so far and it is already a very useful device.
After I have cooked dinner I will have a go at seeing what it can do when connected to the Kronos.
Ok, after an hour of head scratching, connecting cables and swearing the iConnectmidi is not a lot much use with the Kronos.
It only works for audio as a Host (PC or iDevice) and the Kronos is a client, so no audio.
The Kronos also doesn't seem to want to accept midi from it either, maybe because it is multi port, who knows?
