Read your manuals:
1) KP3 rear panel switch to [SEND].
2) KP3 [LINE IN L/R] to DJX7 [SEND L/R]
3) KP3 [LINE OUT L/R] to DJX7 [RETURN L/R]
See DJX750 Manual page 7, no 42/43.

hey brad, that's what i did, as it was like that described in the manual but the problem is i only hear the sound effects like the drumpad effect but things like delay does not seem the work... i'm using it while the music is playing ofcourse but i'm missing something
Sorry for the obviously noob questions

You'll need to push in the buttons of DJX750 [MONITOR CUE] CH-1/4 Channels which one to send through KP3 for sound.
Otherwise switch KP3 to DIRECT, that will include the main sound.
When KP3 is set to SEND, only the effects are heared without the main sound.
Always just switch things around to check the options, won't break the machine.

already did that.. tried to switch around and different things but no result so far, that's why i came here.
So more specific:
kp3 is on direct, send and return fx connected to kp3 correctly, volume and fx depth knobs are open. one turntable playing, trying to put an effect on the sound of the turntable but nothing happens

Is the mixer defect?
Just connect an amplifier to the DJX [SEND] to test if it working.
And connect a cd player to DJX [RETURN] to test if it working etc.
Check if KP3 is working standalone etc.etc.

Read the manual!
If you want to passthrough an audio signal like the phono channel, push the button in the corresponding [MONITOR CUE] channel.
