Drum kit editing

Post by paulcm »

Hi

I've owned a Kronos for about a year now. I've just joined this forum so I look forward to discussing certain features and design decisions with Korg staff and other users. First up, would I be right in saying that Drum Kits are not editable as multisamples. I saved a preset drum kit to a user location. Then I noted that if I change the Oscillator mode to single (from drum) the drum kit samples are no longer available as a multisample?

Also what is the semantics of checking the DKit checkbox in the midi routing 1 page of the IFX settings?

thanks for any insight,
Paul

A drumkit can use many multisamples, that's why it's a special mode in HD1.
It is not, in itself, a multisample.

The DKit box is there so that you can route the FX per key as you set upin the global menu while editing the drumkit, or you can choose to ignore that and make a new routing.

Setting it as a drum kit gives you additional control on your samples and makes editing easier for drum needs

I understand now - reading the parameter guide helped!

What I had been doing to gain finer control over drums was recording each drum instrument onto a separate midi track and making IFX settings per track. Only downside to this was bouncing the drum tracks into one track loses those settings.

Thanks.

Exactly. Glad you got it figured out. I thing it is a good system.
