I have tried every audio input mode I can think of but my Kronos will not record audio.. Perhaps the unit is defective? (It will record midi...) Any ideas anyone?

Did you check the MULTI REC checkbox, at the top right of the Audio Tracks' screen?

What do you mean by record audio? External mic? Input on back of Kronos?

Do you see any input action on the record meters?

Is the audio input level (on the Kronos rear) turned on / up enough?

Need more details on your settings.

Is write protect enabled for the HDD?

Try following the detailed, step-by-step tutorials in the Operation Guide.

the Kronos has an SSD not an HDD.

Lol. All the same to me. I got so used to saying HHD.

The distinction is meaningless anyway, on the user level.

Thanks for all your thoughts.
The meters do deflect on the Kronos and I can hear the sound being input but it never seems to record audio. Nothing audible ever plays back. The HDD/SSD is not write protected.

You have armed an audio track (not a midi track) and selected the correct input?

I'll let you all know if I get it working. No luck so far...

Don't forget to try danatkorg's suggestion and go through the section in the Operations Guide.

I have finally got it working! Here is what I did. I downloaded some demo songs with audio on them. I then tried recording some new audio onto them. Upon doing this I received a message "Can't execute recording.. Factory directory is locked." I then went and unlocked the factory directory and presto, I could now record audio. Presumably this directory had been locked all along but no message regarding this "locking/lockability" was ever displayed..?! until now.

Well, perhaps I spoke to soon. I have been unable to record any audio this morning. I will keep studying...or perhaps not!
