Seems like a very powerful new synth.
I like the inclusion of CV Ins and Outs plus Gate out.
Many other powerful features as well.
Not sure about the price but interesting specs to compare with Moog or Korg MS20.
Having a GAS attack.

It does look very interesting, especially the sequencer and the CV I/O. I'm considering it even though I already have a P12.

A source tells CDM that you can expect the Pro 2 to list for US$1995 and ship late in July. That means this is a monosynth for serious analog synth lovers and deeper pockets.
Disappointing price!
Though it does come loaded with features.

Very cool!

Looks good to me as well, I wonder if any of the software improvements will make it into the P12. The extra waveforms and sequencer would be nice additions.

It all doesn't help if an analog synth doesn't sound as you expect.
I already dislike the overall sound of the Prophet 12 (definitely too cold and harsh for an analog synth), so I am not to keen to hear this one unless it proves to sound signifincantly better.
Even the new Moog Sub37 does not sound as warm and full in the demos so far, as I expect it from a Moog. Analog obviously does not mean quality just by itself.

Have you actually tried one in the flesh?

First the sub 37 now this, I have got a lot of saving to do. I do think the prophet can sound a tad sterile also but I think it come down to how you tweak it. I haven't had a chance to tweak one myself yet but from what I have listened to and some of the comments I have seen from others I get the impression there is a bit of a learning curve to it kind of like AL-1. BobTheDog you have one right am I close in my thought process?

Yep I have one of the Modules, I think it is one of the best polyphonic subtractive synths I have ever used.
I must admit I don't find it sterile in any way, also concerning "cold and harsh" you can make it sound like that but you don't have to.
I don't think there is much of a learning curve required to get warm sounds out of it especially when compared with the AL1!
I think one of the problems is that when people post audio clips of their P12 they are posting cold and harsh sounds.
If you have a bit of time this is worth listening to to hear the range of sounds that the P12 can produce:
https://soundcloud.com/boxed-ear/boxed- ... -bank-demo
Overall I am extremely impressed with the P12, there are some issues though:
1. The sync is nasty and produces aliasing
2. The FM is Exponential which is a bit of a shame, maybe they will add linear or phase at some time.
3. The modulation depths on some parameters are too low, for example modulating an Osc frequency with an envelope only gives you around an octave range. I think they are looking at changing this at some time.
4. Voice allocation is limited, either a 12 voice synth, or two 6 voice synths (layered/split or on different midi channels). It would be nice to have better control over this.

Great link and thanks for the clarification. I would still like one but for me Inthink the sub37 will have to come first! And this new pro2!

Call me crazy if you want but it looks to me like an evolved MS2000 on steroids. Which to me is very cool and long overdue.

Both of those two are pretty desirable, I don't think you could go wrong with either of them

Sounds massive, love how the new discrete filters sound (not based on the Curtis chip that's been (over)used in all DSI synths so far).
Now I wish for a P12 that has the same discrete filters per voice... Gah!

We will have to wait and see is DSI's new filter architecture lives up to its claims. I'm a bit skeptical on their implementation.

From what I hear being posted at Gearslutz, the filters sound splendid!
