As always, it's best to contact your national Korg Distributor for such information. Here's a list of Jam Industries authorized service centers in Ontario. Note that this lists the service centers for all of their brands. There is at least one Korg service center listed in Toronto:

If you call Jam Industries directly, I'm sure they'll be able to help:

If only the authorized Korg service center was not that expensive in doing such an easy operation, that would be the best way to proceed.
I understand that there is some easy job to do and than you can be much more relaxed if an authorized center does it, but they really charge ridicoulosly more.

I'm talking about my experience, korg asked me a bit less than 400 eur to install the upgrade kit on my kronos.......for much less than 200 you can do it by yourself.
Best Buys charged me about $125 to replace the fan with a quieter one. it had to go twice as the resitor needed adjustment and it included the price of a Noctua fan.

I'm glad this worked for me because I was worried about something coming loose after travelling 2000 kilometers there and back to a Korg service centre. Also upgrading new Ram is not difficult, I was told - it just 'slots' into place.

if you go to computer store/service, make sure they understand via links on the 'net, what is involved before allowing them to do this.

The store in Bramton is an authorized Korg service center but I'm still thinking about visiting Stratario in Stratford. It won't be for a little while though. I have a busy time coming up and I have to get everything in order first. Also, I haven't confirmed anything with him.

That doesn't sound right, but I'd have to have more details to comment further. There are a couple of places, including the UK, where Korg *can* do service directly, but in most cases it's handled by independent service centers. In Ireland, for example, I'd look to someplace like Sonic Repair Services.

I like the guy from the service center who did my upgrade so I really wish I could say differently, but my experience with the service center was similar. 350e or so. The disk and RAM together were less than 150 at the time. Also, my RAM actually came loose AND I had a keybed problem return after the authorized upgrade. Two reasons why I had them do it instead of going in myself.

Only my experience and it pains me to say it.

Don't forget to consider installing a small wifi usb adapter inside while it's open.

It would allow you to transfer file wirelessly. For the price, can't beat it.

I think you have details here:

Good luck!
