What is AMS Mixer?

Post by kronosuser3407 »

Can someone explain to me how the AMS mixers work? It confuses me. I read the parameter guide but I still do not understand it.

Can you be more specific? Is there a particular AMS Mixer you want more info on? Are you trying to achieve a certain effect?

In this previous topic, I showed you how to gate controllers using AMT AxB Mixers. So that's one thing you can do with them.

basically it's combining one AMS source with another to create a new AMS source with specific behavior which you define in the mixer track.

i think it's really well explained in the manual, so maybe you could give some examples what parts are unclear to you. Also don't forget to try the tips in the parameter manual yourself, that way you hear the possibilities in action and that way you get more understanding of what it does.

I use it for instance to create new envelopes and lfo's, on this forum there was an example posted in a thread where it was explained how to create the envelope of a moog filter. That was a really powerful example that shows that you can create your own envelopes on the kronos filters to mimics the filter behavior of famous synths.

Thanks Qui. I've been wondering about that myself, and the tutorial looks good too. Thanks for the youtube stuff as well. I'm a subscriber of yours over there :D
