Hi,

I started to look into the Kaossilator Pro and KP3 hardware and firmware. The goal is to find the exact differences between the 4 models (Kaossilator Pro/KP3 and their "+" versions) from a hardware point of view, and see how their firmwares might be compatible (or made compatible).

However, I own a Kaossilator Pro only, and might need some help for the other products...
Does someone want to open his/her unit(s) and take some photos ;-) ?

Feel free to check what I've found so far -> http://blog.rona.fr/post/2014/09/04/Ins ... ilator-Pro, and do not hesitate to share any information you might have that could help !!

Hey there.

I'm interested in anyone who has undertaken the same thing for the Kaossilator 2. It seems like there could be a way to add or change functionality by doing a firmware update if only the hardware was understood.

A few others here have stated the loops in the SD card can be written by external software but that the loop info (BPM, scale, key etc.) would need to be manually entered after loading. Well I had a quick look at was the WAV file format. The loop settings appear to be written into the WAV file metadata. Reversing this should mean the ability to externally manage loops and loop combinations including the looping properties, just like the KO2 does.

That's as far I have got but it's good to hear others are investigating this kind of thing too. Korg seems to have a closed cone-of-slience practice around their technology.
