Multisample mangament

Hey guys,
I've sampled a instrument in stereo. Several velocity layers over two octaves. As far as i can work out i have to make a multisample for each velocity layer, which i then assign to an HD-1 program and set the appropriate values.
Two questions:
1) When i choose which multisample to use in the HD-1, it only reads "multisample L" as in Left, i presume. I can't figure out if its loading the stereo sample or just one side?
2) So far i've selected the "save all samples" option, which saves the preload stuff and my stuff. But i feel like having more control. Im doing shows that uses extensive amounts of one shot samples all the time, and after a while it might get crowded in there. I want to separate the original kronos stuff and my stuff. If i wanted to make a KSC just for this instrument, what must i do?
