Traktor Kontrol S8
Video Trailer http://youtu.be/Z_RYBOerQgo
I wonder, with such an experience in making DJ Gears for so many years, why Korg never jump into this line of product? It's going to be easy.

Nice way to "sell the sizzle". I watched the entire video and am not sure what they were selling.Crystalmsc wrote:Video Trailer http://youtu.be/Z_RYBOerQgo

Some early hints from a trusty source:
- The LCD was designed to allow DJing without looking at the laptop
- No more jog wheel, so it's going to be easier to carry. It's now using a ribbon strip like the X1 MK2
- Can be used as a stand alone mixer like the Z2, but with 4 channels
- Fader and Crossfader can be installed by user
- Build in F1
- Vinyl Time Code
- Using capasitive knobs, so the movement value will be shown on the LCD
- Price $1.299

yes, I like that a lot. It's one of the main selling point to me.Bachus wrote:It has the looks and the screens i was expecting from the kontrol S keyboard...
sounds logical..maschine, komplete and keyboard in the studio. DJing with Traktor, KompleteBachus wrote:Maybe you are meant to use traktor, maschine, komplete 10 and the keyboard as a combo

I really like what NI is trying to do: provide us with a hardware experience for their software.
Traktor Kontrol S8 and Machine Studio are designed to take you away from the mouse/screen dominated mode of operation.
And aside from their functionality they look great.
I hope NI will take the new Kontrol S series also one step further and create a Kontrol 'Studio' type of controller with 88 keys.
The Kontrol S simply does not not have enough controllers and visual feedback onboard. It is a step forward, but not quite the leap I had hoped for.

BasariStudios this "People Yes, Musicians No! DJs equal uncreative, lazy and people that do not know what to do with their lives." seems like a pretty unfair generalization.
I am no DJ but I think some of these people are very creative and talented. To each their own I suppose. I do however really like the tractor stuff. I would love to have one of them to goof around with but have never invested in one there are to many other instruments I would rather have!
