Ugh! Now today he sends an email saying "scratch that - volca sampler ships in December - the March date stands for the electribe. Argh! I understand he's busy and not getting a massive order from me, but the back and forth info is driving me nuts!

I'm telling you, that's for the electribe sampler....theres no way japan gets the electribe and we wait til march.

Are you in US/Europe by the way?

US. My (former) sales rep is here, too. That said, I'm not at the priority of his emails, so he's just "doing" me a favor to try to keep me in the loop.

But I'm not going to ask anymore nor post what he says. I'm thinking it's got to be sooner, but I just don't know for sure. He's always been good with dates, but this is ridiculous and I'm sorry for confusion. I just hope he's messing with me (knows I'll post the info).

Argh!

Personally, I would just keep on eye on Korg's facebook page. Back when I ordered the Volcas, they posted a pic on their US website showing when they finally arrived in the US and within a week, the store I ordered them from got them and shipped them out.

The sales reps have no clue until Korg literally processes their batch order for shipping. I had a buddy whom worked for Guitar Center and he said they are trained to avoid saying "I don't know" and throw out random dates so people don't cancel their pre-orders.

He's a Korg US employee, which is why this is maddening to me. He's got to be yanking my chain, tho he never has before.

My nearest store clerk told me that Korg is focusing on rather releasing a BIG batch once, instead of several small batches where there's always high demand anyway, and then gets sold out, and leaves out others feeling envy, feeling left out and irritated. If Korg release the whole thing to the mass at once, and have enough in stock, everybody's happy.
Except you who want it RIGHT NOW and didn't order it from Japan. U still mad ;-)

Oh. I also pre-ordered the New Nintendo 3DS XL. Sent from Australia today. No US or EU-release before next year ;-)

I contacted several UK companies selling the electribe. some said mid December and even January!!!
I went with the company who said November 28th but they couldn't predict how many they will receive ( I'm number 5 on their pre-order list ). I have the option of cancelling/getting a refund......if I'm disappointed and see one flashing away in another shop window next week!!

I sware..these tribes can not come out soon enough. I have a surprise gig tonight...and I was cursing korg all the way for not releasing these globally on the same day Japan got theirs.

Unlike my normal gigs, I have to work in a very tight space, it is only for 30 mins and it is for a friends Bday...so this is a favor not paid. I had to get more creative that I wanted to in preparing a smaller rig for tonight. This is an absolute pain.

All I have to say to Korg is:

PLEASE END THIS PAIN NOW...I AM TIRED OF LUGGING AROUND 5 PIECES OF GEAR, WITH CABLES, AND MIDI AND ENDLESS POWER SUPPLIES!

RELEASE THE NEW ELECTRIBE NOW ... BEFORE MY NEXT GIG.

JUST MAKE YOUR CHRISTMAS MONEY AND GET THEM OUT TO THE REST OF US NOW...FIX THE REST IN FIRMWARE UPDATES, PLEASE!!!!!!!!

Does anyone think Korg will hear my pleading LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL.

But seriously Korg, fix the rest in firmware...box'em ship'em...make money!

Well, november the 28th has now become mid January/February. I won't name the company who said this as it's probably the same for all the other UK companies.... Korg, this is NOT F**KING ACCEPTABLE !

My preorder from GuitarCenter was automatically cancelled by them. Turns out there are federal laws in the US that say a retailer can't go past a certain number of days without shipping an item, preorder status can't drag on forever.

They switched expected-by dates so many times, who knows which one they counting from. They still say 12/12 on the site, but that's probably wrong.

All in all, a strange and confusing pre-release campaign by Korg and their official US sellers.

And still no in-depth Sonic State-style review. No one has mentioned how smooth the filters track the knob movements, run through each filter, compared the synthesis to another machine, etc. Just a lot of explanation on how sequencers work, plus bland user demos.

It's still early days yet but i wonder if Nick at sonicstate will even do a review since the preview kinda shows it in some light. It would be nice to see a full review but i'm more inclined towards just getting it & getting stuck in. I should have one tomorrow so when i've messed about i'll report back.

Well Sweetwater just changed its December 18th date to just December on it's Electribe page. So, is still present for an on time release of mid December.
