What I meant was that for my taste Google flooded the market enough with Android already, giving Asian companies the opportunity to heavily weaken Apple very consciously and purposefully, with the only aim to take their place of course. I simply don't want to see Google get ANY stronger, anywhere, certainly not with music software. Google simply tries everything to dominate the whole IT world, among others the tablet market with Android, and in a monopolistic way, just like everything they ever touched and/or prepare already (car systems, home systems etc.). Google is not just a company: it's a worldwide disease.

Apple is not really better, they are just a liitle less of a menace at the moment. Else from my view all big American IT companies like Google, Apple, Facebook. Amazon etc., despite all they offer, are at the same time a well organised US Mafia of data-power misusers, and worldwide monopolistic threats for local economies and for democratic life on this planet.

But yes, that's another thread. :-)
I just name it for the big picture of Android music apps.

If Apple didn't want a King's Ransom for their iPad I would already own one and put up with their walled garden. Internal storage only options makes 128GB models simply INSANE and speaking to musician friends its basically a requirement if you want to use it seriously. I really dislike apple, but for musicians they're the only game in town.

I understand and share your points, NuSkoolTone. I'm not in love with Apple either, just regard them as slightly less dangerous than Google and Facebook.

They're even impertinent enough to upload their updates to my iOS devices over my WiFi, without even asking or having any permission from me to waste space on MY bought hardware. Incredibly crappy behavior from these Apple management bastards from my view!

The one positive thing is that the usability of iOS music apps is high, and that you get really useful stuff at low app prices.

It's not quite as dire as all that, from a player's point of view. I can have CMP Grand, Galileo, iLectric, and maybe a synth or tron ready to go simultaneously - on my 16GB mini retina. You can cover most kinds of music with that 'rig'. Yes, I have to jockey apps on and off to make room for what I want available, but even a 64GB would be killer. If you're creating multiple large files with a DAW app it's another story - but even then you can store off-machine. It's all good - and as you say, they're the only game in town.

As a Windows 8 Tablet PC user I'm enjoying Reaper, Leap Motion, and a bunch of VST's on my Tablet.

How did you manage to get a list of all your apps? Hope you did not have to type them.

lol Don't worry that was not all of them as I said. It is just one large example of what the ipad can do for such little monetary lay out.

I think Apple may have changed this but till recently it was not easy to get a printout of one's apps (as in a text list).

Its only a matter of time till Android hardware catches up with IOS for audio work.

As I said, my Note 4 seems pretty good with Samsungs Band Camp music app. I hope there will be more development for Android but honestly, pretty much every single one of my musician friends has an iPad or Mac based computer environment. It might change if there is more development for Android but for app developers right now it's a no brainer I think - develop for iOS. Android may have a bigger market share in general but I don't believe that's the case amongst musicians.

Just checked and all of my typing fingers are still available for use. :D
Your heartfelt concern is appreciated however.

Yes, hopefully in time android will become worth a second look for a music making platform but until then ( it could be quite some time yet or not, we just do not know) we have ios that does the job nicely and affordably.
While we wait for them to get their act together at some point in the future the ipad is a far better option but in time who can tell.
If and when that day arrives it certainly will not be a bad thing. More and better options would be welcome I am quite sure.!

I have the Note 4 myself too. Check out Caustic 3. Seems to be quite good. In the options Tab, select OPENSL ES as your AUDIO API for great latency.

But... I'm looking for small latency... ;)
