I bought a Kronos X 61 which was delivered just three days before the Kronos 2 was announced, so you can imagine how gutted I was when I read about the new one. Mercifully it seems my X has a fault (rattling from keybed) so I immediately boxed it up and got the retailer to pick it up. They wanted to send another X, which I've politely declined. I'm in negotiations to get the Kronos 2 instead, whenever it starts to ship. I'm sure I've made the right choice.

The same thing happened to me however it's a Kronos 88X. Being that there aren't apparently any new ones in the box nor does it looks like anymore are shipping or in transit I probably will end up with the new model Kronos 88

FWIW, I personally think you have made the right choice if you can afford to wait for the shipment.
