If you already own Komplete not such a good deal.

I'm hoping they drop the price of Komplete Kontrol keyboards soon.

I was hoping they'd do a 50% off Komplete Ultimate 10 upgrade....I know many of us got Ultimate 9 last year around half off regular price....I would've upgraded to Ultimate 10 for $199....Oh well, they won't get a penny from me this year....Maybe next year.....moon

Yes, I agree. That Ultimate deal would have been a no brainer for me too.

I can wait a while till they come to their senses. lol

Meanwhile I am tempted b the Korg iPad Module @ $30. Seems they will add other sounds to that and it integrates with Gadget.

I never bother getting the new version of Komplete X,Y,Z... I'll wait until NI are ready to release V.11, and then take advantage of the huge price drop they'll offer on upgrading to V.10 - It doesn't worry me to be a year behind.

The only GAS I have for software is the new GForce Oddity 2, which is out today (so is OS.3 for Kronos)... It's going to be a busy day

I only went for Kinetic Metal. It isn't in Komplete and when they do offer a sale that is the one I would buy so I added it because it is what I wanted the most. So far I love it!

I didn't realize they did that....I thought they simply offered the upgrade price to anyone that had a previous version komplete ....I definitely won't pay their asking price of $400 for the added content between 9 and 10 but maybe when they get to 11 or 12 it will be a better deal.....moon

Usually you get the same upgrade price two versions back, so 9 to 11 but not 9 to 12.

Problem is, i never really understood the concept of Mashine and what it is for,
i am more of a hands on keyboard musician, not a fan of Live, Traktor, Mashine,
Fruity Loops and few of these DJlike tools. I am more of a Linear Producer.

How you describe it is how a lot of people use it but I could see myself using it as a rhythm builder much like stylus rmx....Not to say I wouldn't use some of the other loops if they inspired something....Then pull that into Logic or Protools to finish it out...moon

You can record linearly with Maschine just fine, inside a DAW.
The loop based recording can still be inspiring for building initial patterns though. I tend to build loops inside the Maschine VSTi, then drag them into the DAW proper and cut them however long I want them, add breaks/fills etc.

I've also done fully linear too, you just need to set it up properly.

True that maschine is not used by certain genres more then others and controllerists or sample nuts! But it is as much instrument as the person uses it wants it to be. Like any instruments you need to learn a layout of how to play it, in this case the layout is so flexible you can change it, imagine being able to assign different frets on a guitar to do something other then play a given preset note determined by scale length and tuning. My .02c

Im not very good with maschine but I have fun with it.
