SG2 string resonance sounds gorgeous!

I'm just rewriting nearly all piano programs with string resonance on.

It is incredible how much the well known piano sounds come alive with that!
LOVE IT!

Yeah ! The closed lid and softer pianos sounds much better now

I wonder , will it be possible in future updates to apply that resonator to other things like MDS, Clavinets and imported piano libraries )

The AP's have new life with the string resonance. really enjoying them all over again.

I hope in the future to automate such tedious tasks within PCG Tools.

That's a good thing to do. I started writing ex.factory for the EX5, when I got fed up of remapping Voices (Programs) to point from RAM samples to FLASH samples and vice versa" 1) Select EDIT Voice. 2) Select Element 3) Change Element setting 4) Do 2-3 for All Elements 5) Save Voice 6) Repeat 1-5 for all 256 Voices.....

The 1/2 day spent writing the first remapper utility saved my sanity! :D

I'm afraid I will take much more time for that, but it should be more flexible:
- Changing a parameter value in a program, combi, timbre, set list slot.
- Defining Multi byte values, single byte values or maybe even bits.
- Supporting all models currently supported
- Maybe a conditional change, like if another parameter has a certain value, or range.

It is not the difficult really. I have my utility doing some bulk changes like that. Definitely useful if you have a particular issue that you need taken care of like this!

Not difficult, but some work to do (like making sure offsets and values are in range). But it would indeed be useful.

Can you please tell me how to turn on the string resonance feature?
Thanks

It's a parameter in the SGX2 engine.

I do like the string resonance when I'm playing solo piano, however most of the time I'm performing with a band and so the string resonance would get lost. I also would worry about it using too many resources in a heavily layered combi. So for many combi patches I won't use it.

Is it possible to enable/disable it via the real time control page? (hope I write it correctly; don't have a Kronos at hand).

yes, its gorgeous, good improvement,
thanks a lot korg...
BUT
its far from perfection,
and my hears instantly recognized a flaw :(
it conflict with damper resonance.
I explain that
string resonance is treated differently from
damper resonance, when you press damper
damper resonance takes place,
so string resonance is switched off.
I understand that this way is supposed to work,
but real piano and even my piano module does not
behave this way.
string resonance in kronos disabled when you press
damper, while in real piano and in best stage pianos
damper resonance is an estension of string resonance,
so resonance is present when you depress damper.
if you want to try this flaw,
*** edited
press damper,
press a key, leave it pressed since it fade away,
now hit the same key one octave lower,
release damper,
you will hear no sound at all, while in acoustic oiano
you will hear the string resonance of first key.
its a sublte mater, but quite evident to my hears.

korg will you please correct this so kronos
will be more close to perfection ? :)

I haven't actually tried this at high settings but from the visual representation of the page it doesn't seem to work this way...

Yes, fantastic. Thanks Korg... :D
