OS 3 touch/drag "issue"?

Hi all,

I installed OS3 yesterday. It was very nice to use the new string resonance for the pianos at my duo gig - I was planning to wait till after but I couldn't resist. And I knew the venue had an acoustic piano in case the update would crap out ;)

Anyway, I only got a few brief minutes in to play around - flipping the piano lid open and closed and such. I remembered someone commented on having his/her sliders jumping around, so I tried adjusting the levels in a combi. Dragging a slider down seems to work ok, but dragging one up kept getting "stuck" - for each swipe it would only go part of the way, like 0 to 60, 60 to 90... and I wasn't able to get it up above like 105 or something. It's not a feature I'd actually use much since there are hardware sliders, but it still didn't seem right and I haven't had the time to see if this issue exists elsewhere. Has anyone else noticed this?

FWIW, I haven't recalibrated the screen yet but it seems entirely accurate for regular clicking operation.

In my mind (and it may be entirely in my mind) the on screen sliders seem to have gotten smaller since the upgrade meaning finger control is not likely to be much use (at least for my fat little fingers)

I dont think that makes it right though. If i was to buy a classical guitar with bottum E string constantly out of tune or easily snapped, but didnt "use" that string because i play Bach a lot on higher strings, would be "ok" as long as i suck to a certain repertoire using nonebottum E string.

If theres a defect or something not 100%, it shouldnt be there in the first place. Best have something work, than have a feature thats "niggling"

Still on 2.01 atm by the way.

I agree, that's why I'm asking if anyone else noticed this :)

I've not had a problem so far, but then again I very rarely use my fingers on the screen... I've used my old Handspring Palm stylus for years, and it's working just as well now with the drag feature. Just make sure it's nicely rounded teflon one, and keep the screen clean.

I just wish there was a "fine" control, maybe drag horizontally?

I found this to work very well and to be very useful. Getting control of the lower manual drawbars is not easy on the Kronos. Here's a quick and dirty demo I created.

Don't wish to sound like I'm complaining, but I much prefer how this all looked on the Trinity.

On the Trinity when you touched a fader it zoomed to almost the full length of the screen giving you a big ass fader to slide and adjust with accuracy. Same for the Pan / knobs.

Maybe I'm misunderstanding some of the posts but I can't make out yet if anyone has tried this and has the same issue or if it's working fine.

Working fine here, 0-127 and vice versa. What you describe will happen if you lift up mid-move, which might happen inadvertently if you have a light touch; try pressing down a little more firmly.

That's what I thought at first so I did try pressing harder than I'm normally comfortable with... Thanks for the feedback, I'll experiment some more on Thursday.

Yeah that was a cool feature. Ahead of it's time! Now the machine is actually fast enough for it to be snappy too.

Sander, mine's working fine. Only just tried the dragging business tonight but so far no trouble. The only thing I don't like is that your finger has to move further than the slider moves. E.g if I move a slider from 0 to 127, when I've finished my finger is somewhere over the pan knob and sometimes it then selects this. It could be operator error of course. Maybe I just need a bit more practice.
