Hi all, new to these forums so bear with me if this is in the wrong place or not, and if I use bad terminology.

I've just picked up the new electribe and started having some weird problems while working on it just a few minutes ago.

Currently on one track I have 11 pre-recorded parts playing simultaneously. Now for some reason my synth parts at the end of the track begin to cut off seemingly out of no where. I experimented to see what was wrong, and eventually found that if I shut off one of the pre-recorded drum parts, the synth parts wouldn't cut off anymore. I'm wondering if this is a bug and f others are experiencing this?

I'm also having a problem while I'm playing a live synth track as the other pre recorded parts are playing. As I'm hitting the keys, all the pre-recorded tracks suddenly stop, and all I can hear is the synth notes that I'm playing?

I'm really confused, wondering whats wrong, or what I'm doing wrong, and if I should contact korg, or send the product back for replacement. I never had a problem like this on my EMX before so I don't see why this would be a problem for the new electribe.

If anyone could shed some light, and maybe help figure out whats going on this would be much appreciated! Also feel free to ask me to clarify my problems more, I'm not sure exactly how to word my problem out more than I've already said but I can sure try and maybe even record a video of the problem.

If you have any IFX effects running on parts it is "normal" that the sounds cut out, at least that's what I gather here. Seems previous models did this too.

A way around it is use an empty part with the same 'sample' and IFX in the next pattern. Or you could have too many things running and notes are being stolen.

Hello.. It sounds like you are maxing out the polyphony, or the number of voices allowed. You are only allowed 24 sounds to play at once, and if you pass this number earlier voices are cut off to make room for new ones. You will have to cut down on the number of sounds playing simultaneously to avoid this. There is also a way to set "priority" of voices to insure that certain tracks will not be cut.

So I guess, letting it take a nap wasn't the answer

Sauce, I'm gonna go ahead and agree with you cause that makes absolute sense and didnt even think about maxing out the polyphony.

And DutchCow, Thanks for the advice! Definitely going to take that in consideration for the future because I'm surely going to be running into that problem.

Something to also consider is going into the menu and turning off "alternate 13-14" and "alternate 15-16" if you have synth parts on pads 13-16. This is a setting for drums specifically and if you're just playing synth parts on pads 13,14,15, or 16 you should turn this function off so that the parts are not cutting each other off in a way that would otherwise be desirable for things like open and closed high hats.

Yes, check the "alternate" settings. Change every synth that isn't playing chords to Mono 1 or Mono 2. Change EVERY drum PCM to Mono 2.

If you're still getting random cutting out of parts, and you don't have something else weird going on - you may have a combination of paraphonic synths and insert effects that have overloaded the DSP.

The new electribe does not have enough power to do everything at once.
