Triggering sample with pitch joystick on Kronos - Any ideas?
Is it possible to control the glissando sound using a pitch joystick as is the case with many VST instruments that are played via midi (Kontakt etc)
For example, I'm creating buzuki sample, and I have glisando string (tone by tone). My idea is to be able to trigger glisando note only when I move pitch joystick to the left or right (depending on the direction of glissando).
Is it possible to done this somehow?

I think it is possible using Karma.
Take the example of the factory Patch User D-16: Chime Guitar.
Switch on Karma, keep Latch on the Off position.
While making a chord on the Keyboard, make a glissando on the Ribbon Controller. This action will simulate the action of fingers on the guitar strings.
If you want to change the controller (for example: Ribbon replaced by the Vector Joystick), go to Common, Karma, Dynamic Midi, and replace the Input #6 by VJSX. At the moment, it only work in one direction. If you want it to work in both directions, choose "Direct Index" as destination.
I have just taken one single example. It is possible that this Karma GE does not perfectly feet your need. You may find some other Karma GE that should be better, search with the keyword "Glissando", or something like that.
Maybe Stephen Kay, who designed Karma, will see this topic and give you more appropriate procedure to fit your need.
Regards.

I suppose that you mean triggering sample via playing a keyboard note plus a controller like Joystick !damir81 wrote:For example, I'm creating buzuki sample, and I have glisando string (tone by tone). In that case you don't have to use Karma , this function can be achieved by AMS , so watch my brief
workflow of how to do this with -+Y joystick which is rather the proper way than pitch bend +- X
But if this suites you try +-X axe instead of +-Y :
- Create a Dual OSC Program and assign glissando Up & Down MS in each OSC
- Go to Filter1 of OSC1 (let's say Up gliss) , set output level to 00 , assign AMS to +Y and intensity to +99 value.
- Go to Filter2 of OSC2 (let's say Down gliss) , set output level to 00 , assign AMS to -Y and intensity to +99 value.
Now when you move Y joystick to + position , Up glissando will be heard , and when move Y joystick - position then Down
glissando will be heard.
You can create Bouzouki sound with articulations only using Combi mode so you also have to create a bouzouki sus patch
with the reverse AMS logic applied to (active) filter output ,for example to 99 output and +-Y at value -99 !
For the rest , read advanced edit manual to understand how AMS assignment works.
Hope this helps

Thank you,
I will try this with AMS first and give you my results.
Just one question before:
I already have created Program (with 3 layer of buzuki Multi-Samples for now). So this is clean sound of buzuki on OSC1 and OSC2 without glissando.
Can I somehow apply your instructions to this Program or I need to create new one?
I have two separate Multi-Samples for Buzuki glissando (UP and Down) which so far I have not put in the program.

Yes you understood correctly , you have to create another Program or modify the existing one with base bouzouki sound
where +-Y controller will mute that sound with inverted AMS in Filter , so set output level to 99 , AMS to +-Y and intensity
to -99 value , and create a combination with those two programs !

Wave sequencing may be worth trying as well. You can assign different samples to be triggered by the joystick.

Indeed , I use that equally ( the tricky way ) but it's suitable only for switches since there is no smooth transient
between PROGR like using AMS & Joystick !
