Weird to label this "the first 2.0 of any Spectrasonics instrument". I know they didn't call it "Trilogy 2" but for all intents and purposes Trillian was its successor. It even has the Trilogy sounds in it.

Still, excited to see this. Been holding off on getting Omnisphere but it looks like I might be jumping on the bandwagon in April/May!

So how it will be better then already existing Pianoteq 4?!!
Also other huge concern is if they put grocer store cash register computer hardware like in their current top of the line "production station" Pc3K it is not possible to run high end computer algorythms on that hardwear.

Now days with high end compter plugins with max resolution u can put computer let say with Xeon E5 Ivy Bridge 3.7 quad core to knees even with one plugin so u need a very powerful CPU!!

I have base model of Cylinder Mac Pro late 2013.
I can put my computer to kneez with some other plugins but with this one looks good for now.
(i record at max quality all plugins at sample rate of 32bit/192khz at 64bit persigion audio.)
Looks good to me now but do not know about all possible situations.
By the way i am currently creating song with using it.

Very, very excited about this. Omnisphere is packed with awesome sounds, and this update adds unlimited possibilities to the product.

If I run a 2011 MBP 2.2 Ghz i7, am I out of luck as far as running Omnisphere?

Agree....I've had Omnisphere for quite awhile now and haven't scratched the surface with over 6000 sounds.....Now Omni 2 features over 10 thousand!.....I still haven't made it through the first 6000.....moon

Also agree.

However, owning k9 ultimate, Halion 5, Padshop Pro and Omnisphere1, while it's an awesome update, as I still haven't even scratched the surface with version 1, I'm not sure I can warrant version 2 at the moment if you see what I mean :)

Doesn't mean I wont buy it of course.

It depens what sample rate u recording at!
Befor i got Mac i had PC with Windows 7 64 bit 4 core duo 2.4 GHz. If i am not mistaken it is Q6600 model of CPU. And Omnishpere runed fine on it with 48Khz 32 bit sample rate recording in Live Intro 8.

$199 if you already own Omnisphere, Trillian and Stylus - which I do luckily.
