Weird glitch...between iMac and kronos (F above middle C)

I've noticed that whenever I have my Kronos connected via USB to my iMac (even with no software running) every time I push the F above middle C key on the kronos, I get a white flash on the screen of the iMac....

super weird. Has anyone else experienced this before :?:

Thanks

My K73 is almost always connected to my iMac. Never noticed that...

Maybe the white flash is in your brain at this frequency?

OS X can be set to flash the screen white on alert sounds.

Check Universal Access->Hearing->Flash the screen when an alert sounds.

If that is set then you need to start looking for something that is causing alerts based on midi messages!

ok. This is what I had considered, but I didn't really think that it was a computer notification.

I wonder what kind of midi messages would make the computer itself give a error or notification

Could also be audio. Kronos sends the L/R mains over USB. If your Mac recognizes it as an audio device, perhaps its considering your playing as sound input?

but why would that cause a notification flash to appear?

I was going by what BobTheDog said. I don't use OSX.

The first thing to do is check if the flash setting is turned on?

nope it is not. you said check the hearing parameters right?

Yep, so it's not an alert issue then.

I must admit I have never seen the screen flash unless this is turned on.

Do you by any chance have Logic running when this is occuring?

The flash is actually Logic's error condition. Maybe your keyboard is being detected as a control surface. Are you using a midi control surface as well? You might try trashing your control surface prefs

How do I delete those pref? And no I don't have a control surface that I know of. Lol

Also why would it only flash when I push one or two certain keys?

Logic Pro->Preferences->Control Surfaces->Setup

Then you can see any control surfaces setup, then:

Edit->Select all

Edit->Delete

The flashing could occur as the Control Surface is programmed to take certain actions on certain midi messages.

Originally I didn't think of Logic as you said in the original post that it occurred with no software running on the machine.

I get this message each time Logic starts. If I follow the directions to reset the midi drivers, the message pops up again.

I do have two control surfaces installed.... i am not sure how they got there, but I can't uninstall them either. the delete option is not available.
