I just purchased my 2015 Korg Kronos. I got it with a bundle with a Korg Nano 2 pad.

Play in a casual band. At times I have both hands busy with different slipts and patches from two keyboards midi'd

My question, is it possible to play and save a sample phrase on the Kronos and then use the Nano pad to trigger the phrase during a live performance of hte song.

What comes to mind is the song by Toto...AFrica.....busy with both hands playing the syn parts. Can a musical phrase if programmed and saved such as the Kamilba part o f the song be triggered by the nano?.

Also covering quick staccato horn parts are also a problem. will the nano due the trick
much appreciated

The short answer is: Yes. I use the pads all the time to cram more parts into a live performance with Combis.

Not sure how you're working though. 100% live? Sequences?
Sampled phrases could have timing issues if you're not playing to a click.

Generally speaking the Nano is great. I couldn't see cover band gigging without it. My live sounds are huge now and I can cover so many parts! What's also a nice trick is to save keyboard real estate by assigning some parts to JUST the NanoPad.

Typically I have this: Top 8 pads are assigned to song specific stuff. Bottom 8 Pads are assign to Special FX and percussion that I have quasi Globally. I haven't gone much deeper than this, so there may be other creative things you can do. That's just my main use of them.

Hello. I'm looking to go in the same direction as you and am about to purchase an Nano Pad2. Can you explain how your pad is setup to trigger say horn stabs or chorded string pads? how are your combi setup to take commands from the pads? Sorry, I'm new to this as I said.

You can do several different things with the pads. RPPR can be really useful.

The top eight pads correspond to the eight chords you can define per program/combi. You set these on the Kronos. The Nanopad just makes them available directly as opposed to via on-screen "pads". The bottom pads can be programmed with the nanopad editor software. By default, they send out low note numbers.
