Defaulting the HD

Post by toohip »

Since I was, or still am, a newbie to my Kronos X61, I have a need to factory default the unit. I presume it will throwback the two factory/OS updates I have performed and will need to do them again?

If you mean defaulting using the dvd....

You can go to the latest o/s without installing any of the others.
The firmware will also remain as it was....

Best Wishes.

It usually represents "That's interesting". People also use "Too funny" when something is amusing but there's no real thing as something that is too funny unless it's in a bizarre circumstance I guess.

"The joke was so funny, he died. One man read only the first half of the joke and had to be hospitalized."

Thanks for the explanation,enigmahack.
I've never heard that before.......perhaps it's because I'm in the UK and not widely used much,....or I'm so old and out of touch with things..... :)

Have you been successful with the default setting ?
Hope things are ok.

Am a little intrigued with the terminology "too cool"....having several definitions etc.

One I've found is this.....

"1. Overconfident, cocky or conceited.

2. Believing that you know everything to the point to where it can harm you or work against you.

3. To be too smart for your own good or too smart by half, meant either literally or ironically.

4. To be in a state in which you think you are better than anyone else in general.

5. As an idiom, it is sarcastic."

Is this what you mean ?

Or is it something else ?

A smiley emoticon indicates a compliment,though....but could be wrong.

Best Wishes.

Pedro - you are persistent, but I think you are digging well beyond a simple notion my friend. But I will attempt to elaborate never the less.

I presume you know what the term 'cool' or to be cool means' (other than a relative temperature point). And you certainly understand the word 'too' as opposed to 'to' or two'.

Simply put my usage of the term applicable to this thread was to say: it was very cool of you to reply with a sensible answer. It was more a thankful comment and about as much a compliment than anything else. Perhaps it is better to say it is a colloquialism?

In am 62 years old and grew up in Los Angeles where colloquialism's were quite common in social banter during my younger years there. I guess I never got over it...lol 8)

As for defaulting the HD: no, have not started the procedure yet. I have a lot of pre-prep work to do and very little time to complete the steps to do so. I work so I can only do these things when time permits. But when I do get to that point I will post the results here.

Have a great day Pedro. And thanks for being 'too cool'....lol

My good friend toohip,
Thank you so much for explaining things…I do appreciate it.
Forgive my persistence (and possible annoyance),I am a little green with some colloquialism terminology…but not afraid to ask and learn.
I'm even older than you are…..perhaps I've led a sheltered life,somehow…. :)

So,Thanks for the compliment….

Pleased my information may be helpful and do hope it works out for you, whenever time permits….(never enough time to do the good stuff, these days….).

Looking forward to reading your update with its final, successful and satisfactory conclusion.

Best Wishes.

Older than I am?? Wow. I will say we shall not get into any conversation(s) on this forum involving ailments, prescription drugs or flatulence problems. lol

A former 'boss' of mine and I were standing around chatting one day a few years back. We ended up chatting on the above (ailments, prescription drugs, surgery's, etc.). He is a few years younger than I am. He suddenly stopped and uttered: "what happened to the days when we talked about 'beer & boobs' My reply was: It's called the 'Golden Years' and I'm still waiting for the gold to appear...

Cool

Sometimes in Ottawa it is too cool. But we have direct flights to sunny Mexico, which is too cool. But when I flirt with the girls by the pool they become too cool for me :)

Risking going off topic further…..
Following a hectic day of around 6 hours spent in the casualty department with my partner's problems following a fall, reading the last few posts has made me smile…. :D

So,Thanks chaps……

(She's been sorted to a degree…no broken bones, just need to take more pain killer tablets and wait for nature etc.) .

Glad she is taken care of and nothing dire resulted. Wishes for a speedy recovery.
