I am a Keyboard Technician and have worked in the field of keyboards and organs for forty years.
Do not use WD40 on switches. The typical Tact switch used on keyboards does not respond well to cleaners but if you were to try, use DeOxit D5.
The proper way is to replace the bad switches.

Korg PA3X
I own the famous korg keyboards ( M3,Kronos X & PA3X )
And come up with this conclusion ,
For who is looking for real sounds and articulations go with PA3X
For studio works and sequencer and live gigs splits combinations go Kronos X
P.S. Korg PA3 X is arranger totally different concept but have awesome real sounds specially guitars and wind woods
I didn't mention the great Pianos in Kronos X the only real sound and the rest are synths almost .
I hope this gonna help and answer your question

Re: Korg PA3X
Many times I read this that PA3X arranger have much more better sound then Kronos. Why? It isn't to much logic to me, high end workstation, if it don't has better sound it will be logic to have same as. I mean that this is probably like that, because Korg want to force users to buy sound libraries. With this, we (you) can bridge this weaknesses. But why it is not presence on PA3X, can someone clear me this?EQula wrote:I own the famous korg keyboards ( M3,Kronos X & PA3X )

The Korg PA series is developed by an entirely different team, in Italy (vs the Synth team in Japan/US). They seem to have very little to do with each other, development-wise. The PA3X single engine is like a more advanced version of the Kronos HD1. It allows for way more oscillators per program and scripting-like features called DNC (Dynamic Nuance Control) that make it very well suited to sample based acoustic emulations.
In this sense it's, unfortunately for us Kronos owners, more advanced. If Korg would ever combine the SSD streaming of the Kronos with the PA3X DNC that would be pretty much unbeatable.

Thanks,
SenderXpander for clear me this. Is it possible in some way that DNC implement in new OS for Kronos or we can only satisfied with some better sample libraries?

Some manufacturers are trying their best with the available controls. The Korg string expansion uses SW1, SW2 and the VJS a lot. Anthony Sharmman also tried a lot of things using combis instead of programs. It's not entirely the same thing though. But it's all there is until Korg decides to alter HD1 or add an engine. There have been no signs that that will happen, so far.
For what it's worth, I'll take SSD streaming over DNC any day (for my purposes)

Thanks a lot SanderXpander.

Slightly deviating from my original thread but very interesting nevertheless. I reply to some of them.
(1) I'm not in the market for the PA3X over the K: the YouTube vids probably don't do it justice but the sounds to me fall into the 'middle of the road' area. I find it difficult to sit up and get enthused but to some I can see how its pre-sets for example take a lot of hassle out of getting at the particular arrangements. It seems to me more of a backing instrument as opposed to front of stage.
(2) If you buy the K and keep your O, what do you use the O for? It could happen to me which is why I asked: if the O sound banks can be transferred to the K, my O would be a husk and moth-balled which would be a pity having paid handsomely for it.
(3) The O will obviously have a shelf life as will the K so I could hang on to the O until its internal workings are beyond repair or, more likely, beyond replacement to make it a viable and enjoyable workstation to play and record from though I have the service manual and a handsome collection of screwdrivers and a shiny tin of WD40 at the ready.
(4) On a related tangent to my original thread, how in fact does Korg sample their sounds for the O and the K which I presume is the same in both cases ? Does Korg record live musicians in sound studios or concert halls etc and then convert the recordings into the appropriate format for both instruments? It would be interesting to know. I hope there's nothing amateurish on this side of development but something Korg can be rightly proud of. Maybe Danatkorg can help?
That's quite a lot to be going on with for now!
