So with the July release of the new windows 10, I guess/hope I'm not the only one planning to upgrade a notch. Will the PC editor for my workstation work on the new OS?
Or will Korg release a new version for the PC editors?
Cheers for the help!
Ricky
P.S. I'm not sure this is the right section of the forum to be posting this.

As general advice, if you rely on software for something important, never upgrade until after a few months. By then there will be more info about compatibility and possible issues.

Usually best to wait for the first service pack of an OS before making the move. Let the other chumps find the bugs!

Ah thanks for the insight. I'm not really used to this sort of thing.

Unlike Apple, Microsoft are usually very good with regards to back compatibility. I can run pretty much all software from ~2000 (then Windows XP 32-bit) on todays Win 8.1 64-bit setup. Currently using old software such as SoundDiver (discontinued 2002), Trinitro (1999) and other apps which have long been abandoned, on Win8.1 x64 without problems.
I've used Windows 98se-32bit, XP-32, 2000-32, Vista-64bit, 7-64, 8-64, and 8.1-64.

That's true, but for instance Vista sucked pretty hard. It's tough to tell until after a few months.

Windows 10 is based on the Windows 7 and 8 Kernel and Microsoft have worked with hardware and software vendors to get near 95% backwards compatibilty with those two OS releases. I have been in the Windows 10 insider program for 5 months now and I can say that every piece of music software compatabile with Windows 7 or 8 works in Windows 10. The only time you might not be able to install is if a specific installer file looks for specific windows versions rather than query anything above a certain kernal version. This is easily remedied through either the compatibilty option on the installer file (once it's installed it will work). Or change the setup.ini file in a text editor and simply add the Windows 10 query in there (if your more of an advanced user).
I don't yet own a korg krome, but I downloaded the editor and tested it on my version of Windows 10. I can confirm that the standalone version does work, not sure about the plugin as not able to test that.
