Suggestion: Shift Function for Insert Effect Knob

Currently, insert effects are either on or off, and you have one knob to control parameters.

Adding a Shift Function to the knob would make things better. Also, some effects really need to have the voicing changed a little to be more effective. (No pun intended.)

Punch: Default amount. Shift decay time control

Overdrive: Change voicing to add some soft clipping overdrive. Default amount. Shift for post-overdrive gain adjustment.

Distortion: Add a little more distortion to max value. Shift for post-distortion gain adjustment.

Decimator: Default sample rate reduction amount. Shift to apply post-decimation lowpass filter.

Bit Crusher: Default bitrate reduction amount. Shift to apply post-bit redux lowpass filter.

Ring Modulator: Default ring pitch. Shift to adjust wet/dry mix.

Sustainer: Default sustain amount. Shift to adjust post-sustain gain amount.

Limiter: Default limiter amount. Shift to adjust post-limited gain amount.

Low EQ: Default low cut/boost. Shift to adjust a kill other frequencies amount.

Mid EQ: Default mid cut/boost. Shift to adjust a kill other frequencies amount.

High EQ: Default high cut/boost. Shift to adjust a kill other frequencies amount.

Radio EQ: Revoice for a more effected tone. Shift to introduce tuning artifacts and/or static amount.

Exciter: Default mix. Shift for extra high end boost.

Low Pass Filter: Default cutoff. Shift for resonance amount.

High Pass Filter: Default cutoff. Shift for resonance amount.

Band Plus Filter: Default cutoff. Shift for resonance amount.

Talk Filter: Default cutoff. Shift for resonance amount.

Delay 1/4: Default to repeat amount. Shift for mix.

Delay 3/16: Default to repeat amount. Shift for mix.

Delay 1/8: Default to repeat amount. Shift for mix.

Delay 1/16: Default to repeat amount. Shift for mix.

Roller 1/32: Default to repeat amount. Shift for mix.

One Delay: Default to non-tempo synced time. Shift for mix.

Short Delay: Change the default knob to give a full 128 steps of smoothed time control. (Currently some increments do nothing and values jump.) Shift for feedback amount with a much louder mix level (currently the mix defaults to a very low level) - maximum amount would self-regenerate with a soft-clipping ceiling on volume. Change voicing for slightly degraded analog-like repeats.

Ring Delay 1: Default to ring pitch. Shift for mix.

Ring Delay 2: Default to ring pitch. Shift for mix.

Chorus: Default to speed. Shift for amount.

Flanger LFO: Default to speed. Shift for feedback.

Flanger +: Default to flange position. Shift for feedback.

Flanger -: Default to flange position. Shift for feedback.

Phaser LFO 1: Default to speed. Shift for feedback.

Phaser LFO 2: Default to speed. Shift for feedback.

Phaser Manual: Default to phase position. Shift for feedback.

Tremolo: Default for speed. Shift for mix.

Off Beater: Default for tempo division. Shift for mix.

Pumper: Default for tempo division. Shift for mix.

Repeater: Default for tempo division. Shift for mix.

Slicer: Default for tempo division. Shift for slice pattern.

+1 for all of the above, I'm only surprised it hasn't come up before!

Also the default value should be 0. Some IFX have a non 0 default value.

Yes, this would be very good. (I bet Korg wanted instant gratification for newbies as they flipped through effects - but I think we all understand them by the name.)

Now... How we make the Japanese to hear this ...?

There's actually a lot of dj controllers that function like this (think Serato)

A megaphone and a trip to Tokyo  And possibly a quick course Japanese on the plane, or watch Lost in translation on the onboard entertainment.

I'm so sad about the FX implementation of the new Electribe, it's really the thing about it that gets me down the most. Minimum of 2 effect chains I would have expected, based on all of the other Electribes before it. Having to choose between chorus and distortion is crap, that sort of thing is silly in its limitations. Or you could have IFX distortion into a master chorus, but then you would not be able to have delay. That's pretty lame. They could have basically put a Kaoss Pad Quad structure in and it would be a thousand times more fun to play with. Not to mention the lack of parameter editing available. I don't even care if I have to menu dive to access additional parameters, they NEED to be there. modulation without depth control, delay without feedback, is so reminiscent of shitty late 90s groove boxes. The effects have those parameters in the software somewhere, so giving hidden access doesn't seem to be like it would be something impossible. One of the best things that took the EMX into deep territory was the 3 effects being able to chain, being able to do that allowed for so much more sound creation. Really it should have broken fx into a few separate categories, with sends and routable signal. But I'd settle for some sort of menu system like the LFO, where you could choose a distortion type and modulation type together, then at least you could get some really tasty harmonics for your flanger to sweep through. ugh UGH I doubt any of these things will happen since it won't increase sales by much and whatever.

If it's an issue of processing power I would even take less synth parts if they could be switched out with fx chains instead. That would be great, I never get all the way up to 16. And for those parts you could implement more of the knobs to edit the fx deeper. If I could have an 8 part synth section with 3 layers of routable fx I would be in heaven
