Deleting a Bank
Hi
Although I have the Oasys, posting here might help my dilemma if the K has duplicate systems.
Somehow I've duplicated a complete bank 1-127 patches. I have therefore got 2 identical sound banks. They happen to be Combi patches. User Bank F is the same as Combi User Bank G.
I want to delete User Bank F--all of it so to leave it blank
Is there a fool proof way of doing it?

That will work, but only for Program Banks - not for Combi Banks, which is the OP's question.Bald Eagle wrote:I think that if you go go Global Mode and change the bank type and save the change, then change it back again it will clear it.
As I mentioned in the OASYS forum:
The only way to "empty" a combi bank is to load an INIT bank into it, thereby erasing whatever was there. For that, you need to have a file containing INIT combis.
If you have an INIT bank still in your OASYS, you could save a PCG file and then load that INIT bank into the other bank. Sadly, with the way Korg names INIT combis in the OASYS, that will result in the combis having the wrong INIT names I think I recall (i.e. if you load bank UG INIT Combis they will all be named "InitCombiUGxxx" or something like that) so if you load them into UF they will still all be named UG - but they will still be empty.
Or, if you happen to have the KARMA Oasys software, you could create an initialized bank of combis and then send it over via SysEx. This will give you the correct names.

I can't remember exctly, but afaik when you initialize a combi via the menu, you can check a checkbox to initialize all patches in that bank.
Also PCG Tools can be used (although it works a bit different but/and more flexible).

Yes, that is true for *Kronos* with OS 3.x or higher - it's a new feature. I personally asked for initialization features for many years - not that they listened to me.michelkeijzers wrote:I can't remember exctly, but afaik when you initialize a combi via the menu, you can check a checkbox to initialize all patches in that bank.
However, original poster was asking about OASYS. My answer therefore is correct for OASYS.

You are right ... I also couldn't remember it from earlier releases. Thanks for the clarification!StephenKay wrote:Yes, that is true for *Kronos* with OS 3.x or higher - it's a new feature.
