Electribe 2S Event Recorder advice

Hi, guys. This is my first post but won't be the last since I got the Electribe 2S and I'm not super experienced with sampling/sequencing.

First, I was impressed at how quickly I could learn the new tribe. It seemed pretty inuititive for a guy who has only used an MPC 500 in the past. I pretty quickly arranged a song and strung the parts into an event using the Event Recorder.

My intention was to use this unit as a sequencer as much as a sampler. The Event Recorder sounded like a godsend since I do a solo show and I'm sometimes playing a guitar and singing. Taking a bit of button pushing away sounded great. BUT...

Event recorder does not send Midi. Am I wrong? I am now thinking that it just records the internal audio rather than all the note info.

Assuming I'm right and this is not fixable, can anyone recommend workarounds for playing a series of patterns in a row without manually moving the data knob to change or having to hit a pad (In Pattern Set Mode)?

The event recorder is useless. Sometimes it doesn't play back the whole recording. You can't really tweak anything when it's playing back. It is not a substitute for a song mode.

I would love it if Korg removed the event record and added song mode and/or pattern chaining. I don't trust the event recorder anymore. Too many recordings crap out after 2 minutes.

Until I see "event recorder bug fixed" in the I will not touch it, and even then it its usage is very limited.

Find out if program change messages can change your patterns via midi (I need someone to chime in here or see if the manual helps),then if so,you could find a peddle that can send midi program changes.

Program changes are transmitted and received, according to the implementation chart.

It seems a lot more robust. I've had 3x 5 minute plus tracks record and playback fine since the update.

Really? You've also ran into the recordings crapping out right? Maybe I will give it another go when you can properly tweak and maybe overdub. Yes I will never be content, this is my struggle

Thanks, guys! I'll check into the program changes thing. If there was a song mode that still transmitted midi that would be 100% what I need. I think I now know why this thing took so long to hit the market. It seems to need some tweaking.

It used to be unreliable so I stopped using it. But honest to goodness, it seems much happier since the update. Now it'll through its teddy out next time I use it...
