Changing upper1,upper2.. sounds from midi

Changing upper1,upper2.. sounds from midi

Hi, is it possible to change sound (upper1, upper2...) externally through midi messages. Like program change messages.

Can you let me know the midi setting needed for it.

I am not looking for sts or performance from midi, but direct changing one of the voices/ instrument being used on some channel in style play mode.

Yes. Go to GLOBAL MIDI and set the desired MIDI INPUT channel(s) to the UPPER1 thru UPPER3 ... then send Program Change data to those channels.

I did try that but that didnt seem to work,
Setting 1 thru 4 to receive on upper 1 through lower.
I'll try that again, might be something else.
PS. I am finishing an external app to store and trigger these messages.
Everythong works except this.

Ableton Live 9 can do it .
Use Filtering notes in Midi Effects rack on each dedicated track.
MIDI 1:
Output to CH# 1 (Upper1)
create empty Midi track
disable Loop
Set Pgm: bank: 122, Sub:11, Pgm: 0 ( Grand Piano 121.010.000) (all is +1, start from 1 to 128, instead 0-127)
create next empty Midi track
disable Loop
Set Pgm: bank: 122, Sub:4, Pgm: 41 ( Slow Violin 121.003.040)
you can do many you wants.
MIDI 2:
Output to CH# 2 (Upper2)
tracks same as Midi 1
-----------------------
now you can control tracks board with your controller.
With Launchpad is piece of cake.

I got it working,
My Midi Port was Locked up for some reason. Disconnecting and reconnecting the cable back got it working.

My App is almost complete too.
Though it might have limited use-case with this keyboard.
