Styles Sets Edit

Post by keyofZ »

Hi All
I have found a lot of styles thanks to members
Well I am confused by the Styles section. PA600
I would like to set up The Styles In a logical manner!!!!
I would like to get rid of categories of styles(Like Ballroom) I do not ever use. and Replace them with. Well.....
What I want!!!!
Why is Korg So illogical about this?
Every Way I look at trying. Is a Nutty amount of work!
So Lets Say I delete all the Styles in Ballroom.*Unprotected Styles
  • Can I then Rename Ballroom?
Can I load a Set/Group of styles into Ballroom?
And How does one organize the Styles/Categories in the first place? There seems no reason to lock the Factory Categories in the first place. Let the user decide names.
I have seen some others post frustration at this.

    NO

Can I load a Set/Group of styles into Ballroom?

YES, but you must UNLOCK FACTORY STYLES FIRST

And How does one organize the Styles/Categories in the first place?

Only Favorites 1 - 12 can be renamed

There seems no reason to lock the Factory Categories in the first place. Let the user decide names.
It is what it is

Probably not enough to get KORG's attention

It is a daunting task on the keyboard , however this is how I do it.

1: I reserve one bank for edits (User 3): This bank serves as a temporary placeholder.
2: Empty this bank (select all and delete)

3: Add styles to this bank one by one as I like (from factory or other banks or even file system).
4: Once bank is finished/full save a copy to disk( for safety and quick load)
5. Go to The Target Bank (factory or user) and copy this bank to that.
6: repeat from step 2 for any other banks I want to create.

Tip: Since the The banks Load Quite Quickly from Disk, You can reserve USER 1 as a Recall bank (to load any bank form file system into)

That way You can have Any Style at your disposal.
Same can be done for Performances too.

Here's the way I do it.
I have fav 1 - 12. Each fav has 40 styles. That is 480 custom styles. I too us 1 user bank for style edits. Add user 1 and user 2 and you have 960 styles. That is a lot of styles. At least for me. I use songbook a lot. Once I edit a style the way I want, I place it in my fav section. I than call it up in songbook and make all additional changes in songbook. 960 styles that will keep me busy for a while. LOL. Essentially for me that means 960 songs. I don't even think I have 960 songs I like. LOL.
But than again, I just paly for fun and try to make seniors feel good. I am not a professional musician.
The only stupid questions are the questions that have not been asked.

You can do also by Unprotect styles and Pad in global and save all .
Then you have backup as BANK01-15, FAVORITE01-12, USER01-03.
After Backup all you can one by one organize them.
As rename it factory... you need external software to do this, is no option I know do this on Korg board.

Tip.
You can rename file name on your backup for easy recognize like BANK01.STY to POP.STY, is not going to effect data, is still recognize by Korg in manual loading styles.

Nobody force nobody to buy anything, you can always spend hours and hours manually organize your styles, sounds or samples, but for many people time has good value and to save they precious time they buying tools.
Time is money. :)

I am not sure why you are so defensive about this software????
Do you own it or something????
It is Not my World opinion though.
Just the bad reviews of the software.
And I am tired of replying about it.
I wrote Software for almost 30 years. I know when something is overpriced.
Software Price Must be relative to the market the product addresses. (First rule of software-pricing is Value to Customer)

Please no more reply's about this. It is off topic!!!!
