Making mute track to different VAR and save?

Post by icanpiano »

In Style - How do I make different tracks to be Mute and save them?

For example:
VAR 1 - Mute tracks 5,6
VAR 2 - Mute tracks 6,8.

I tried do it in Record mode but any change on one track changes the other ones as well.

Also – Saving a style to Favorite is the same as saving it to User?

Thanks,
Ophir

Can be done using Midi message in Edit event as set Expression (Ctrl#11) or Track volume (Ctrl# 7) to 0 on begging of track.
Edit Track Volume (Ctrl# 7) in track is not supported in Style Edit my bad
like: M:001.01.001 Ctrl (type) 11 (Value1) 0 (Value2)

If you do this to one, you need add this message to rest of elements with value2 you want on each, so after you change variation come to volume you want.
I hope this make sense for you
if not, tell me exactly what you want, then I'll tell step by step how can be done.

I'm a little bit confuse here, so help me to understand what you need.
Most people if they don't wanna hear trak on one of variation , they just leave empty this track.
You can simple delete track on var you want to mute and won't hear, unless you planning just temporary mute.
I can tell you more if you tell me what what's your needs.

That's one way to do it but let me refrase it.

I would like the volume of VAR1/T5 to be 100 and the volume of VAR2/T5 to be 50. Both on the same style.

How do I do that?

Thanks.

I am assuming T5 you meant Acc5.
1. Go to Record / Edit Current Style Set
2. In right corner on main menu to : VAR 2 and click once on Acc5
3. Go to menu --> Edit Event
4. Click once (highlight) on fist line and click Insert
5. On the new line (M:001.01.000) change for: M:001.01.001
Expression events cannot be inserted at the starting Position (001.01.000)
6. In same line change Note to : Ctrl
7. In same line set Value 1 to 11 (Expression)
8. In same line set Value 2 to 50 (50% of set Volume)
9. Write Style in same location
10. Exit
11. If you have more CVs do same to each one from 3-10
12. Check in Menu --> Style Elements Track Control position of Expression on Acc5, if is not 100 and you want stay that way except Var 1 and Var 2 you need do same as Var2 to Var 1 with value 2 = 100

This all after save have to stay that way, in order to access in real time the only way is using external controllers to overwrite temporary , after finish loop (style get position 1) will come back to setting store in track.
If you dealing with adjusting Expression is good to leave a little flexibility on Volume, set lower that average, so you can still adjust while you play. :)

P.S. I have go thru my styles, I believe (not sure)I got somewhere one where the volume track is changing on different variation.
Have to look how is done before post it. 8)

you want to set relative volumes, don't use volume, but use expression
0-100%

you can do that in style editor.
