Being a MIDI novice, this may be a stupid question but I'm going to ask anyway.
I want to set up my Cue buttons on the Zero8 to control my Cues in Ableton via MIDI. I have entered the MIDI map mode in Ableton and clicked on the Cue button on the screen, and then pressed the corresponding button on my Zero8 to assign the control.
The control works to operate my Cue in Ableton. But I have to press the button on the Zero 8 twice to activate the Cue on/off.
Can I change how the button works with this MIDI control? I want to press the button once to turn the Cue on, and once to turn it off.

When in MIDI mode, assign the button you want to use to cue. On the lower left hand portion of the screen, there should be a MIDI mode selection menu. try setting it to Absolute. If this doesn't work, try the other settings.
If that doesn't work, try messing around with the type of MIDI message sent by the Zero 4 in the Zero Edit config. I don't have one myself so I'm afraid thats all the help I can give ya.
Good luck!

Absolute is the default. I also tried changing the MIDI stuff in ZeroEdit. I set the Min/Max both to 127. But it still didn't work.MTG wrote:When in MIDI mode, assign the button you want to use to cue. It has somthing to do with what TYPE of controller it is.
I havn't installed and used my ZeroEdit software yet so I can't tell you exactly but I would say Look for "controller type" and try using a few of the different types.
I had the same problem with the controller buttons on my Evolution X-session and it was just a matter of me going in and editing the controller type to the other setting.

I got it working. Here's what I did, everyone.... in case you care.
1. Boot up Ableton.
2. Open ZeroEdit
3. On the top Menu Bar, select MIDI.
4. Set the MIDI Input and Outputs to Auto Detect.
5. (ZeroEdit downloads settings from Ableton)
6. Goto the line 11, and set it with the following: CC Max = 127, Min = 127, Toggle
7. Repeat procedure for rest of your channels.
8. Save and close ZeroEdit.
9. In Ableton, set the MIDI for the Cue buttons to Absolute.
That's it. Now when you hit the button once, the button lights up and activates your Cue in Ableton. Hit the button again, and the light goes out and the Cue deactivates.

I'm not much of a midi whizz myself, so i actually achieved the the cueing result by setting the behavior to "momentary" which does the same expect your cue button doesnt stay lit as get more of a trigger like function to it.
