So I'm interested in getting a good software with samples and etc. on it.

Does anyone have any suggestions? my max price is about 400$

I'm looking for something that I can record with, use my PadKontrol with, possibly my keyboard with, an have a lot of sounds.

Any suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated.

Oh yeah, and is the IK Multimedia Sonik Synth any good?? is that what I should be looking for?

Thanks guys.

If you mean drums yeah Smile

It's a virtual rack with a selection of synths, drum machines and fx.You also get soundbanks full of synth patches and drumkits.I wasn't keen on 3 but 4 has hada major overhaul and they've added feature that people have been crying out for some time! Very Happy

Best to check out the demo.Great thing is if you have Reason Adapted you can upgrade to full version Cool

Btw the way it's a closed system so you can't use vsts with it.It doesn't have audio tracks either. If you want audio you can to rewire it into a host such as Ableton Live to record external instruments and vocals

Hope this helps

I would recommend Ableton live over Reason. It offers more than Reason, in my opinion, and I use my pK with it all the time. Being able to time-stretch samples in real time is worth the price of admission, which is about the same as Reason. That's just my preference, though. Yours could be different.

I believe the basic version of Live 6 comes with Impulse (drum machine), Simpler (sample playback) and a ton of audio plug-ins. There are quite a few presets with the included instruments. I also paid the extra for Sampler (full-featured sampler) and Operator (pseudo-FM synth).

The best part about Live is that it acts as both a remix/sequencer/loop tool, as well as a DAW. And if it doesn't meet your DAW needs, you can Re-Wire it, just like Reason, into whatever you prefer to use (Pro-Tools, Sonar, Cubase, etc.)

In a nutshell, yes. It does come with samples, but you can also add your own samples, as well as anything else you wish to.

Like I said before, it's just my preference. There's nothing wrong with Reason if it works for you.

Here's the demo:
