KARO presents:"KGP Grand Piano" in a higher level

Post by medusaland »

Hi Oasyan`s

KARO presents a 2 piece DVD collection of highend grand pianos! On the first DVD was a "Steinway" and "Fazioli" grand recorded. The second DVD includes a "Bösendorfer" and "Bechstein" piano. Each multisample was in 4 different stages of velocity, recorded with 24-bit 96kHz and then transfered in the Oasys and converted to 16-bit 48kHz. All samples are unlooped and thus provide an absolute reality.
The excellent quality of this library is therefore no longer be distinguished from the original. The capacity of each instrument is between 500 mb - 800 mb. This 2 DVD's are available in about 4 weeks and cost per DVD 149.- USD. 8)

Best wishes,

KARO Sound Development

Was each note sampled on each piano?

Hi Ken,

at the begining we make a test and sampled all the 88 notes.., but the problem is the size of the ram.
Now we sampled every second Key in all the 4 switches and it sounds absolutly the same like the 88 Keys and we save memory!

For example... 4 way grand...
(each piano has 4 velocity stages)

velocity zone 1 begins with the first note A second B
velocity zone 2 begins with Ais second C
velocity zone 3 begins with B second Cis
velocity zone 4 begins with Cis second Dis

every multisample has 44 stereo samples in highest quality ;-)
The KARO grand pianos sound absolutely authentic and really play in another league

Hi Karos!

That sounds really fantastic for a new piano and 149 dollar is giving me the value in any instance :D
Great idea!

Great news, I'm really impatient to compare your piano with EXs2 :)

With only 2Gb of memory, the user shall have to unload Exs-2 or Exs-3 to play with KGP. KORG please do something !!!!!

Hi sebby,

HI KORG,

I can hardly believe it but as far as I know, it was never a Korg opinion to Karo! pity! WHY?

I have often asked whether in future it will be possible in the boot up of the O. to select the Karo libraries

I'm not really sure if Korg cooperates with Karo ?????????????????

It would be nice if Jerry or Dan expressed on this topic

ALl of us at Korg a VERY impressed with KARO's work, thankful for their efforts and support, and wholeheartedly endorse what they do.

I personally like every title they have done and look forward to each release.

OK?

Actually, this is the time to buy it, while you can still pick and choose samples.

What is needed is "Bank Auto-load", like the E-MU samplers have. On my E4, this feature allows me to mark any Bank (from any drive - internal or external), so that it always loads when I turn the unit on. Very handy!

I really like that Karo libraries are not EXs banks. As they are, you can mix and match samples and programs into much smaller, effective banks - for instance, pick the best sounds/programs from Philharmonic Strings, Granular Atmospheres and Movie Collection (all of which I have) and still have room to load your favorite Korg EXs banks. I actually wish the Korg EXs banks allowed this kind of picking and choosing (without resampling).

It takes some work, but why load the whole 700 meg String library, when I just want a few key programs and free up most of my RAM?

Hi Mike,

I agree with you...

A "Bank Auto-Load" function would be absolutely great
