Mike three words ex-cel-lent! I was wondering how much would you charge to shoot a low budget music video?

Pigpen you said that you were interested in seeing how other Oasys users work their Oasys.

I used the combi's, karma presets, programs, and record through a preamp to the Oasys. I live and mix inside the sequencer and add some effects. Mainly the O-verb to master fx, eq and stereo mastering limiter to total fx. Then I bounce to wav file in the O and straight to CD all using the Oasys.

It normally takes about 20-25 minutes from inspiration to final song(but I do add to it sometimes over the course of several days).

I came up with the actual song in an afternoon. However, I spent a couple of days, off and on, just playing around with the sound set. I reprogram almost everything - like AMP Pan positions, so that the low end of the Tremolo strings are on the left and the High end on the right, while keeping it a single program.

I created a drum kit that contained the timpani, tubular bell and what you heard. Every sound in that drum kit needs to be panned and/or EQ'd.

I programmed breath control for the solo strings, flute and clarinet. I also made the woodwinds mono. I programmed some new spiccato patches.

This was my first time really going through all the EXs3 sounds, with such scrutiny. I was inserting program changes, so instruments would change in and out, but I ended up only needing 15 of the MIDI tracks. Still, I wanted to know how to do it.

As for the actual playing/recording, this was very loose. Nothing was quantized or looped, I just played each track. I laid down the harp, first, then started playing other instruments on top of it. When I screwed up (often), I would press COMPARE and re-record it.

Interesting question. That would depend on where and how much was involved (lighting, fog, greenscreens, editing, etc.). Where do you live?

Thanks for replying, I live in North Carolina. I figured well here is a guy talented with movies and soundtracks. I figured it would be logical to at least ask about it.

I'm using all of my resources, business training, musical ability, songwriting skill(needs work), and funds that I can acquire to chase the dream before I get too old. Also, so I won't have any regrets of not trying when I get old.

You're an excellent role model for my endeavours because you are running your own business and producing excellent product(s).

North Carolina, eh? I'm not sure about lugging equipment to the opposite coast, but we can discuss what you're doing, via PMs. Thanks for the kind words, btw.
