Our church is shopping for an 88 Key weighted board for use with the praise band This will mainly get use from "piano players".............meaning most of the users have little or no experience with synthesizers. I'm currently on drums with this project and have an M50-61 to throw into the mix but I'm debating between recommending an 88 key M50, or the SV1.

As a fellow church musician with experience of working with these 'piano players' I would definitely say go with the SV1. In fact I moved from an M3 to the SV1 as I simply never used the M3 to more than 10% of it's true potential.
I'm a piano player before I'm a synthesizer player. That's just me. |

i haven't played the m50, but im one of those "piano players" - the sv1 is my first synth. i love it. the weighted keys feel great, and i am glad i don't have to deal with screens full of menus. the acoustic piano sounds are missing -something-, but they're not too horrible. the rest of the sounds are like butter though. |
