I assume there is no max polyphony on the modeled tones, but what about the pcm voices.
Anybody know what the polyphony is for PCM sounds? |

Pick a patch and use it even creating your own there is only one sound. I believe any other sounds you may hear are because of the alog or pressure sensor but not multiple voices playing over each other at the same time so Polyphony is just one. Someone correct me if I am wrong as I am not a keyboardist as much as I would love a Kronos I have no real knowledge of the keyed world. |

What? C'mon. This should be in the manual on the spec sheet, but it's not. |

Well I guess if you play the rim and the head at the sme time you could say you have to voices. |

We know the sound engine can do at least 5 voice polyphony: 2 algos, 2 samples, and a loop (which I'm assuming is a fixed sample, since you can't vary the tempo).
Assume the loop has top priority in terms of voice allocation... I've never had it cut out on me with even the most frenzied of slapbanging. That said, I have a few variations on the Hang Drum patch dude posted here a while ago, with the release time cranked up a fair bit, and I can hear voice choking and re-allocation occurring. For the life of me I can't determine the polyphony threshold that initiates it, or how it's distributed between the algos and the pcm samples though.
A circuit diagram would tell you how many dac channels there. _________________ Make. Write. Play drums |

Hmm I never thought of it that way. Cool!
What does voice allocation hanging up sound like? |

Typically sound engines use 'last note priority' voice allocation. There are other possibilities, but none of them are as likely in an instrument like the wavedrum.
Play a quick series of sustaining notes, and when you reach the polyphonic limit the last note you play will cause the remnants of the first note in the series to stop abruptly, because that voice has just been reallocated to produce the note you just played. _________________ Make.
