|
|
Hello all,
I hope if Korg could support us a new update after 1.06 that enables auto load for samples that can be selected previously when saving sampling data i think a check box could be appeared in saving sampling data wizard,
that's my idea.
Greetings to those professional programmers and developers whom i do/n't
know Specially Michel Keijzers.

I vote important, however as written in the other thread, chances for a new update are very small.
And to be honest, although I wrote important, I hope they will not spend time for an update, because I rather have them create new things and update for the latest synth.
From a Korg point of view there is no real business case for adding additions for reasonably older synthesizers. That's how capitalism works. _________________

I voted important on this, despite not even owning my Triton Extreme anymore (just sold it on eBay last week).
I realize how capitalism works, but it's not as simple as deciding not to support products anymore after a few years.... Korg is far from the only game in town for music synthesizers, for one thing. If they get a reputation for constantly releasing costly new products and cutting off support for the rest of them, consumers will notice that and look for alternatives with better long-term support.
By contrast, I was recently looking closely at the Access Virus products, and was really impressed how their Virus TI line came out somewhere around the 2004 time-frame, yet the latest OS updates from just a month ago or so still work fine on all those original Virus TI units, as well as on the latest TI2 models they released. They've obviously been putting out software updates for their synths on a very regular basis for many years, understanding that's a big selling point for them.
It struck me that Access approached things similar to computer hardware vendors, really. (Even my 10 year old laser printers have new drivers for the latest operating systems released for them. Sometimes I had to wait a few months for the manufacturer to get around to it, but clearly they understand people expect to get more use out of the hardware than just a few years, until they do a computer upgrade and make the device obsolete.)

I don't want to totally defense Korg, however a printer would not work anymore if the driver would not be updated for a new operating system, but your synth still makes the same sound and has the same features as before. However, it would be nice if some features would be backwards compatible for older synths. _________________

It's really important but, there is no chance of any other new OS.
