I think supernatural is new, however if they do not have a decent 16 timbres combi mechanism I'm not really interested. _________________

I welcome the Jupiter 50,I would like a JP80 but cannot justify its price tag,and even more so since its had a price hike of £200 in the UK,this 50 model sits nicely with its more sensible modest price....
Might be a spinoff, but suspect many people are put off the Jupiter 80 by its high pricetag for what your getting,so the 50s pricetag is more easy to swallow
Don't know why the emphasis is on only using 76 note keybeds though, given its aimed to be a portable gig friendly version thought they may have learned lessons from the lack of G7 sales,a more portable solution would be better in a 61 key model(you can always use buttons to transpose octaves for those extra keys) |

Since you own both, why is a JP80 with a Kronos such a great combination? |

I don't have a Kronos - I have an OASYS
Two reasons really -
1) sonic compatibility - the characters are very different but they complement each other beautifully
2) creativity - with the JP-80 you can very quickly create an inspiring brand new sound from scratch (I'm talking under 10 minutes). This new sound becomes the basis of a new piece that the OASYS transforms from an idea into something much bigger and better _________________ Plugged in: Fantom 8, Jupiter-X, Jupiter 80, System-8, JD-XA, V-Synth GTv2, FA-06, SE-02, JU-06A, TR-09, VT-4, Go:Livecast, Rubix44, Shure SM7b, Push2, Ableton 11 Suite, Sibelius, KRK Rokit 5, |

I recently recieved my JP-80. Great Keyboard.
Reminds me of the time when the top of the line was the M1/D50 combo, now it's the Kronos/JP-80.
Great pair, for any style of music! _________________ Kronos-6, Krome, M3, Radias, KingKorg, microKorg, KP-2, KP-3, KO-1, KO-1 PRO, Karma, microX, monotron, monotribe, PadCONTROL, Wavedrum Mini, Volca Keys, Beats, Bass, Sample, monotron Duo & Delay, microArranger, M1, Wavestation, Volca Sample, Keys, Beats & Bass, MS-20

The demos for the JP-50 dont seem all that convincing, at least yet. While the JP50 is stripped of a lot that makes the JP80 attractive, such as the touchscreen and ten-tones at a time, I wont rule it out until I see some more demonstrations. _________________ Gear: Korg R3, Audio Technica Headphones, Yamaha YPG-535 |
