Just taken delivery of the Korg Kronos. Came over from M3 - have hundreds of sequences done in M3.

When I try to load a .SNG file the Kronos says file unavailable.

I take it you cannot use the M3 sequences directly in the Kronos.

What is the best way of keeping as much material intact and transfering the sequences across?

Sean

.Sng formats are not cross compatible except in the same keyboard models ie-M3>M3 Kronos>Kronos

You can save the M3 sequences as a.Mid file(SMF-Standard midi File format either format 0 or 1)and then load them into the Kronos

Obviously your only saving the Midi data in the tracks,so if you used any Patterns to create your song,the Pattern data inside the Pattern locations will not be retained

Probably you mean Oasys->Kronos?

Whilst your observation is relevant,the OP doesn't mention having an Oasys

I was refering to the question of M3-Kronos compatibility

In converting from a Triton to the Kronos, I had so save allbsequences as SMF, load them and then re-voice and remix each one. I have 200+ sequences and have completed about 30 since getting the Kronos in late November. Unfortunately, I don't believe there is an easier way. The good part is that you learn a lot about the Kronos very quickly.
