Build quality is great IMO . The end caps could do with being a little grippier or have a recess like the triton for ease of carrying, but they look great. Cool

Good to know!

I'm about to start a tour and, if your Kronos survived a car crash, mine will survive the airport crew. Smile

Mind though that I've transported a Triton 61 inside an SKB 61 case from somewhere in east Europe to London via Brittish Airlines and it appeared in pieces at the end of the track. Joystick, six keys, knobs... Be careful and don't place anything heavy upon the case, specially elephants coming from east Europe to London.

I know someone who sustained a very serious injury in a car crash, because he was transporting a heavy guitar amp in his car. The amp was placed behind him, and when he hit a car in front of him the amp got thrown to the front of the car, hit him in the back.

The amp is fine, but he's still revalidating...

Since I heard about this, I always put my piano on the other side of the car. Scared it gets thrown to the front if I'm in an accident...

Maybe a good idea to 'strap in' the synth using the back seat belts (I admit I never do that), but I take care the keyboards are never too high (risking the chance of being thrown over the seats).

For the sake of your own safety, use some straps. I am often too lazy with this, but only when I drive the 6 or 7 blocks to the rehearsal (having the heavy stuff on the passenger's side).

When it comes to distant travelling, I always strap my equipment down and to the back. In my car there are two latches intended to lock the back seat's backrest upright - when the back seats are flattened, it's perfect to use these as pick points for a rugged strap.

Never had an accident with this configuration (luckily), but the package has more than once survived even heavy breaking at least.
