How do people obtain support for their Kronos keyboards? Korg doesn't offer it. They say "contact your dealer." My dealer says "We do not provide technical training. Consult your documentation." So I scour the manuals and can't find the answer there (or perhaps it's incorrect). Next I turn to the forums. Some people here are very helpful. But if no one has the answer to a question, I'm in a Catch 22. Are there other support avenues? If so, what are they? _________________ UCG Musician |

My 2 cents

Tech Support is a very different thing from you requiring lessons on how to operate a keyboard. If your keyboard is misbehaving, then you contact Tech Support. If you’re stuck on how to load a PCG file, then you read the manual or you take part on an online forum where fellow musicians just like you can help each other out.
Although KORG do still take many calls from people just needing help in operating their keyboard.

You can try your hand with KORG, or ….there are advanced users on this forum who would likely help, but in order to increase your chances of getting that help, keep your post very short and straight to the point.
With that said, why seems to be your problem ?
Regards

Dealers mostly don't know much about every detail (would be hard if they sell lots of brands).
The importer mostly only redirect people.
Korg support is the best official way to get information.
And as written by Apex, you also can try here. _________________

sounds like this is your 1st Korg w/s. You will have to wait to get a specific answer here. It is free, as you know.

Responding to Sharp and GregC:
My primary problem is understanding how to utilize the Kronos with Sonar or Finale. This is the first Korg my Church has owned. As the person most responsible for my Church's music program, I am involved with writing and arranging music, creating sequnces that are used to accompany the choir and a lot of performing.
I have been getting a great deal of help through these forums -- which I appreciate -- but am having trouble with things like accessing specific banks/sounds through MIDI messages. My posts on "GM Drums" and one I just submitted on "Accessing Global Bank in Sequencer Mode" are examples of the difficulties I am experiencing. _________________ UCG Musician |

For somebody with little experience of Korg synths, I would recommend getting the video tutorials from Sudosonic. If you learn everything that is explained in about 4 hours and 41 minutes running time, there will be little left for you to learn. Check out the content at:

Francois,
Thank you for the information. I believe that set of tutorials is exactly the kind of thing I need. I've worked almost entirely with Roland gear & have done a great deal of sequencing in Sonar & music arranging/composing music in Finale. The Kronos is a very impressive instrument but I am struggling with its complexities. The training should help immensely.
