Ok, so last week I was given a Korg Trinity Plus by my uncle. I play piano, but I've played on a Baby Grand Piano. I would like to find and play a grand piano or a simple piano on the Trinity, but I have no clue how to get to it. At the moment I'm playing with the Acoustic Piano. Please Help Me.

As with most synths, there is only one multisample as a basis for a piano sound on the Trinity.

However it can be programmed to sound a little differently. For an improved piano sound go to the downloads section:

... and check out "PCG" "Steinway Grand" by Vesa. Download it onto a floppy disk and load it into your Trinity, or use Trinitro to transmit the program to your Trinity from a PC.

Thanks a ton! This actually cleared up a lot. Now, Can I still buy Floppy disks at the local Office Max, Wallmart, Staples, etc? And I have a later version of a PC, and It doesnt have a floppy drive, what Do I do? Is there any other method for which I can download the PCG onto a floppy? Maybe someway through a USB component???

Yes, floppies are still available - read the manual for the recommended spec on density and size.

USB floppy drives are available at the same Office Max you are buying your discs from for between $20 and $30 US - I got one to use with my Mac (no floppies there). Works like a charm for making discs for Triton and Trinity.

You may be able to download .pcg files directly via midi depending on librarian software you use for it, but floppies are a safe and rewrite-able bet for the Trinity.

If you're feeling adventurous, there are a couple of threads here regarding replacement of the floppy drive with a floppy-emulating USB port, at which point you'd just need a data key to transfer between your computer and keyboard (triton extreme supported this straight out of the box - lucky me). Professional help is recommended for the technically inept (I include myself in that category) but the mod is neither very difficult or life threatening to the machine.

Yes, you can use the excellent free Trinitro librarian on the PC to transfer patches between your PC and Trinity without needing floppy disks. However you do need a MIDI interface connected to your PC for this to work, as the data is dumped via MIDI.

I actually bought an old used computer with a Floppy drive and am going to try downloading the PCG(s) as soon as I get home. Just in case I am in need of assistance towards inputting the floppy's memory or PCG into the Trinity could one of you guys run this process by me? Would I have to go into the "Program" setting? or perhapps "edit"?

Took a quick look at my Trinity -- "disc" is the button you want; 2nd button from left in second row down.

That should pull up any function having to do with saving-to or loading-from a disc.

Remember to back-up any data (make a .pcg) of your current set-up. Any file you download will overwrite your current settings, effectively destroying any work you've done to this point - program edits or original stuff.
