Hi axs,
Welcome to the club. Last Korg workstation that could do that was the 01/W. As some have told you, you have the Tone Adjust feature but it's far from perfect.

Only thing i would recommand is to use Combi mode instead of SEQ( i think Mr. QR stated that). That way, you won't have to load your settings all the time. In Combi, you just save to internal memory and it stays there. You have all the same parameters in both modes, sound-wise. I name the Combi the same as the Logic project and select it before bringing the project in Logic(or you could insert a program change so Logic will bring it on project start).

You'll have a blast with the Kronos if you like editing sounds. Enjoy.

My 'idea' was to have a sort of editor for all 16 programs, being able to edit everything and instantly saving changes, so the combi would always refelct the latest changes in total.

Yes, that would be great if that was available. (the motif has that, but has an easier synth engine structure setup).

It got me thinking, after seeing the incredible work chrutil did with the al-1 editor we also could create a VST editor for the tone control functions. Because every knob has it's own CC value and the midi channel determines which sound you modify this would solve a lot of problems when using the kronos in a DAW environment.

When you only create a VST for the control knobs you could do almost everything you want in a daw that way. The creation of a VST isn't that hard when you use Synthmaker for instance. There you can draw the layout and knobs and assign the CC information in it and then export that template as a VST.

I simply don't have the time at the moment, but if something like that still isn't available at the end of this year, maybe i will create such an interface. Then we have the in depth editor(s) from chrutil and we can also use a VST for the general performance parameters.

I think that would be a very good idea. If I add MIDI communication to PCG Tools I could combine it also with editors, but that is a lot of work (especially writing all the synth engine editors). However, it would be cool to mix multiple PCG files together with real/time editing on the Kronos.

That sounds really cool. I guess I have to read up on VST's. Not familiar with anything other than vst instruments.

Also, in PCG Tools I am intending to have some kind of editing functions, but more on macro than micro scale. E.g. to change the volume of a selected amount of programs, or transpose multiple timbres in a combi at the same time; such kind of actions. Actions that take longer on the Kronos itsself to do than manually.

Thanks for your insight, everybody. I have now been messing with this thing today - and OMG - the Kronos is crack! I think it will be amazing as a soundscaping tool, despite my initial slight skepticism. That is, if I can ever commit to anything, since I just keep going down these endless avenues of evolving sonic goodness. I don't even wanna think about what will happen if I blend in som analog low end. Twisted Evil At the same time there's great stock sounds. It's clear/transparent sounding, and will, I'm sure, sit well in a mix. Wow. Quite the complete package. But I guess you already knew that. Glad I got it now.

Cheers!

I was thinking of doing this on the iPad using the Lemur app, as always though it's the time!

Does the Kronos output all the cc values on patch change to keep controllers in sync?
