If its priced right, with the sound of the acoustic pianos; the Krome will be a sales volume winner for Korg.

So the almost 4 gig PCM is made up of 1 piano, the jazz drumkit, and electro piano something or other?....If you subtract those 3, how much does that alocate for all the other sounds?.....

I love the look of the board with the blue buttons...Reminds me of how cool the M1 buttons were when it first came out....I would have been much more excited if they could have included all the HD sounds as well......It still would have been very limited compared to the Kronos with only one complete engine but that would have truely been a major announcement to me....I'd personally really like to have all the HD drum kits and not just a jazz kit....I would have bought one on that merit alone.....moon

The jazz drums would be much more versatile than I thought they would be now that I've heard them.....When I think of jazz drums, I don't think of the punchy sound like those have....It would be interesting to see how the V-drums triggered with those......moon

Impressed !!! Very good quality of sounds, the DAC converters are excellent!! Now I can´t understand the lack of a DAW feature, is so easy to add an ADC and DAW USB interface in the same way as the Yamaha MOX series. Having this feature the Krome would be the killer of the workstations !!!

My congratulation to Korg engineering about its new creation !!! Awesome !

i found on the web that grand piano sample are 2,8GB, and EPs are 0,6MB, overall sample should be 3,8GB so you have 400MB of samples left for all the rest.

if you think that trinity as 32MB of samples and M50 has 256 MB, it's seem enough anyway

Is it just me, or does the Krome appear to be the perfect compliment/controller for a M3M? Almost like M3-88 rev 2.5 - better touch screen and menu org, better pianos - I could dump almost all my memory on my M3M and use that for sampling, with karma driving the krome via external tracks, and the Radias synth goodness as the cherry on top.

Hmmmmm......

the interesting thing imo is the way korg is trying to marketing the Krome: the name and the look&feel is clearly leaning towards kronos (same kind of chassis, same font for the name, same touchscreen....) but the core of the krome is fully derived (maybe except piano samples) from the m3 (same sequencer, same engine). it' s like they would have us seen krome as a little kronos but really it's a second generation of m50.

wonder if program and combi from m3/m50 are compatible with krome

Wow, looks great. $1200 for the 73 key. I was saving up for the Kronos....but I like the idea of buying both this and the Juno Gi instead.

You also must take into consideration that much of that 256 MB of the M50 is taken up by pianos and EP's so this krome board really should sound spectacular. Very Happy
