can't compress MY set
hi All.please help . i can't compress my set 247 mb .Every time I try to compress its take more than a day Because it freezes at the end of the process and the job does not end .except i Forced to turn off the device and restart it. After this I see the set size is became 122 mb free and is not working correctly and to many sound kit and style not working Properly!!please advise.
EXB 256MB Ram.
Os 1.5
even os 1.11 wasn't work

Re: can't compress MY set
I´m wondering if there is a software tool to compress a set external at high speed (250 MB on a fast PC 3Gb dual core should not take more as 10 min !!!) and transfer it via SD card or USB. PC integration with synth workstations (the approach that follows Yamaha Motif series) is a great feature to exploit faster resources. Due the slow processor used on Korg synthesizers aka similar speed and features in a basic cell phone (200 Mhz single core ARM type) a full PC integration will reinforce possibilities leading to a more friendly environment avoiding at the same time user dissatisfaction.gempk5 wrote:hi All.please help . i can't compress my set 247 mb .Every time I try to compress its take more than a day Because it freezes at the end of the process and the job does not end .except i Forced to turn off the device and restart it. Examine if all sample contents of your uncompressed set work properly in MS environment.
When compression freezes system then at least a single sample file is corrupted or grayed !
Go to Sound/record/edit samples , browse samples list up to point that you find the first sample
without (*) signature at the end (not compressed) , play that sample(s) to see if reproduced
normally and try to re-save it(them) with compression box checked until you find corrupted one.
Also browse list for un-selectable gray samples that for sure freeze your system under
compression mode.
In that case of gray samples , you must find container multisamples , delete it and then
delete all unused samples (sample edit screen upper menu).
Also a very important factor to delay your compression is the false loop activation for drum
samples that will cause looping noises after compression as you probably have.
My speculations for your case is that your Set comes from older PaSeries with drums loop box activated
for the majority of your single drum samples plus some gray samples remnants when you tried
to overflow Ram capacitance , therefore in that case you have days of work to heal your complete Set.
Hope this can help

1.i have some time looping noises that befor compression any samples.this noises continue in the background on all style or sound or sequencer mode its not going to End until I restart device.
2.drums loop box activated.!! i don't know where is it but this set YES comes from older PaSeries with drums kit sound etc.its combine Multiple sets for pa800.pa2x. (i made it).
first pic when it freezes system .
Second pic after compression .and some samples was compression but it white or gray as in the picture.
so where is the wrong.
regards

What is wrong ???
I knew in advance and already wrote what is wrong ,read carefully previous topic.
In Brief , you must delete white (gray) samples since are corrupted from time you tried to overflow
256 Mb Ram (I wrote how).
Notice that these white samples are not selectable and behave as blank when played in MS !
Then follow path Sound/record/sample edit/loop edit and un-check loop little square for every
single drum sample that is checked and save them back , 'cause this is always the reason of noises
and whistles of drum samples since a very small portion is looped..
This might take a very long time , according to number of your looped drum samples.
When both procedures are done , then your Set will be healed and compression will last
2 hours the most , for 250 Mb sampling data.
Good luck !

but white (gray) samples It works well before compressing for example in the picture white (gray) compressed and had been working without a problem. They are content of Styles (Drum Kit )AntonySharmman wrote:What is wrong ???

and i never tried to overflow my ram.is that possible cause I forced to restart after one day of compressure because the device it was freeze and when I forced to reboot its became gray or white.??
I can a proof to you by Upload a video clip that samples had been working one by one before compressing..Only for white (gray) samples.
the set have more than 5400 Samples .white Samples almost half the total number.!!
Is it possible to repair them without deleting.
I believe You are really Superman in this forum Thank you ..violently

You don't have to prove anything , I believe you and don't forget my intention is to help you !
If you can select and edit a white sample then it definitely works otherwise is blank and waste !
The multisample you probably think that is OK , but it isn't and the reason is that since is a slice mode multisample
consists of a hundred samples in keys sequence and surely you have missed some blank keys that
exist via 88 keys spread !
The creation rule of white (grayed) samples is when you load a MS which exceeds total remaining Ram , message
"not enough memory" appears , but also blank sample containers are created and must immediately deleted
with the uncompleted MS. In some critical size occasions , you have no message at all !!!
So for a reason that I don't know in your case , your white samples are corrupted after compression that means
that something is wrong with them , and since are blank and not selectable then must be deleted.
You must heal your set before compression , so work on your previous uncompressed SET.
If you find plenty of white (blank) samples there ,then give up all and create your SET from scratch !!!
First of all correct all looped drum samples ! ( by 60 % cause of all your issues)
Then try to isolate all these multisamples containing white samples after compression and work there, export all
these MS to a file in your HD, delete them from Pa3X and compress the rest healthy SET.
Afterwards import one by one the exported MS , execute compression for every imported MS
and examine for blank samples.
If a minor part of MS cause this issue, you have to decide to delete them or not , therefore in second case
leave them uncompressed !
This way you have the advantage to import as last the incompatible MS and let them uncompressed , operating
somehow a partial compression that is missing from Pa3X ,and your whole set will be at least 70 % minimized !
Choice is yours and good luck.

You're right in everything you say.the Problem is that I built this set from several sets. Example, I want to take some specific Style of a particular set and This style is consists of drum kit When I load Theme and i took kit also so that I have a full set.AntonySharmman wrote:You don't have to prove anything , I believe you and don't forget my intention is to help you !

yes there is some key inside the drum kit dosn't work like thay are blank but all style thay are work .after (before compression ).
Thank you for every word. God bless you
