If you are in poly mode check that the detune knob is not turned up - the oscillators, which get nicely detuned in unison mode, stay detuned in poly mode if you don't turn detune down. |

Maybe I'm misunderstanding the problem - are the oscillators wavering all over the place or are they just out of tune?
What I have noticed with the Keys in poly mode is, if you have detune dialled in, the first note played will be in tune. If you add a second note at the same time, this will be out of tune (the amount depends on the amount of detune dialled in). If you release the first note but continue playing the second note without lifting this finger (ie. gliding between the keys) it will remain out of tune. I think the same thing happens if you add a third note. If you lift off completely and then press the key again, it will now be in tune (the Volca registers this as the first note of three possible notes and is thus back in tune).
You can try the following in poly mode:
Dial in the maximum detune.
Play one note. Add a second note and then lift off the first note, keeping the second held on.
Now dial the detune down to zero - you will hear this note coming back into tune. |
