External 2 tb drive

Post by Benny A. »

Hi folks ,

Benny here with maybe a stupid question but need an answer before going to use my external HD.
Plugged in a 2tb HD Western Digital My book (mod 1044) with the newest firmware directly into 1 of the usb slots of the KronosX, also with the latest os installed.

Is it correct that I only have access to 1.8tb (formatted with the Kronos) of the disk?

There is also an extra disk available of about 200gb with no label, it is a (ses) dos disk but it is not possible to save to or format the disk.

When plugging the disk into a pc with windows or Linux you only see 1 disk of 1.8tb and not the extra one??????

Is it possible to also use the 200gb or is it just a part that the Kronos needs for his system or so?

Thanks for the answers!

Love my KronosX88.

Drive size is always given as unformatted, a bit of a con really. So it's quite normal to buy a 2 Tb drive that appears as 1.8 Tb once formatted.

Good explanation:

Hey Francois,

Thanks for the fast return.

Just tried to format the 200gb part, the Kronos froze and had to restart.
Probably I have to ignore the unusable 200gb drive!
For some people it would be better an unusable disk was not visible / selectable.

Greetings from Belgium.

Love my KronosX88!
