Korg Poly800 followed shortly after by a DX7. Sold the Poly decades ago but still have the DX7 and it still works. |

Yamaha PSS-470, yeah baby. Gotta dig those bossa nova beats! MS-20 eat your heart out.
Well, you did say first synth. Although it was a toy keyboard, it actually had basic FM and sound shaping! Had it around 1988 when I was 7. Learnt to play music on it, and later a PSR-300.
Seriously, though, first proper synth was the Trinity V3 in 1999 when I was around 19. Still gets used. _________________ [Free Moss Set For All Workstations With Moss Expansion]

... I used a Wavestation keyboard for a few years that I got as b-stock from whoever the Korg rep was at Sam Ash in NY when I worked there in 1993. Honestly, I used it mostly as a controller for the JV-880 in my rack, but I spent a lot of time messing around with the wavetable sounds when not on the gig. I lent it to a buddy for his studio many years ago and he's still got it and still uses it. Pretty cool. |

Yamaha CS15 me. Kept it from 1982 until 2011 and made a profit selling it, which surprised me Sold when being fed up of dusting a black synth with knobs overrode my sentimental attachment to it!
First poly, after a long hiatus from music, was a DX7II in 1999. Sold when my own software could import DX7II banks into my FS1r.
First Korg in 2014, when I got the Kromos.... _________________ Derek Cook - Java Developer

Both of mine aren't on the list
1st ever synth was a polyphonic Crumar Trilogy...though it was more an organ/strings/synth than a pure synth. To set the 8 memory slots you had to detach the top which lifted up and exposed a PC board with variable resistors which you twisted around with a tiny slot screwdriver to the settings you wanted
1st ever true synth was a Sequential Circuits Pro-One...

Hammond B3 ... Perhaps not a synth in the traditional sense ... But still a fine electro-mechanical additive synth. They just didn't call it a synth back then. |

My first synth was a modular, PAIA 4700, that I bought like a kit and build myself.
Then I bought a Korg Polysix! |

Very cool...for my 1st synth I almost bought the PAIA Proteus kit but the SCI Pro-One was a couple hundred dollars more and I didn't have to do the assembly...which I probably would have messed up - being color blind makes reading resister color bands tough _________________ Current: Motif XF7, Prophet 12 Module, MS20 Desktop, SQ-1, Radias, MS2000R, Emu Proteus 1000, Roland System1-m

Yamaha DX21, since around 1993. Still have and use it, only service it ever required was a new battery which I installed last year . _________________ Korg: Poly-800 | microKORG | microSAMPLER | SQ-1 | Volca Beats | Volca Bass
