|
|
I am trying to record the sync pulse to a Tascam DP08 digital multi-tracker in order to record individual drum sounds on their own tracks. I've taken the stereo sync out of the Beats into tracks 7 and 8 on the recorder and recorded 5 minutes of pulse with good levels. However, when I try to play it back by taking the stereo out of the Tascam into the sync in of the Beats it doesn't work. The Beats goes haywire and seems to either be playing back at 2x speed or just random (fast) beats. I don't believe my audio signal is overmodulated, everything seems to be theoretically correct.
What am I doing wrong?
(sorry if this has been covered already) |

The sync-cable provided is a Standard stereo-audio-cable, but the Volca-manual says Sync-In / Sync-Out are both MONO.
Maybe you have the problem because of a stereo-signal goin into the sync-in.
I use for syncing my Volcas only mono-leads (standard synthesizer-patch cables) and they work without a problem....
Suggestion: try to take just one (mono) channel (right or left) from your tascam-out and connect this with a mono-cable to the sync in. |

I recorded with a mono cable, played back with a mono signal thru a stereo cable. It took some tweaking with the audio levels but I got it to work.
Thanks for the help! |
